SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's track & field team recorded 22 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks, two NCAA provisional marks and three event wins at the Dave Labor Invitational hosted by SRU Saturday at the William Lennox Track.

More than 1,200 athletes from 37 different colleges competed at the first of four home meets this spring for Slippery Rock. The hammer throw took place Friday with the rest of the events occurring over a stretch of 11 hours Saturday.

Slippery Rock picked up individual wins in the pole vault, triple jump and 3,000-meter steeplechase and got NCAA provisional marks in the pole vault and shot put.

Drew Layton led The Rock to five PSAC marks in the pole vault and a 1-4 sweep with an NCAA provisional mark of 4.95 meters.
Dan Hyatt was second with a clearance of 4.80 meters, followed by
Andy Huynh at 4.65 meters and
Logan Gossard at 4.50 meters as SRU swept the top four spots.
Scott Finch also met the PSAC standard in 11th at 4.35 meters.

Seaton Wozniak led the way in the shot put with a career-best effort of 17.82 meters, upping his NCAA provisional mark from earlier this spring. His throw, which was the best collegiate mark Saturday and second overall, was just shy of the SRU record of 17.95 meters.
Joshua Gose took fourth with a toss of 16.58 meters and
Logan Parker was fifth with a personal best of 16.45 meters to mark the second week in a row with a personal best for Parker.
Zach Gose took eighth at 15.33 meters to give SRU four men with a PSAC mark in the event.

Wozniak also took fifth in the seeded section of the discus with a PSAC mark of 47.78 meters with Parker taking 10th, also hitting the PSAC standard at 44.49 meters. The Rock's throwers also hit two PSAC marks in the hammer with
Joshua Rohland in fifth at 48.88 meters and
Joshua Gose in sixth at 47.71 meters and two more in the javelin with
Josh Kingerski in second at 57.96 meters and
Joseph Reed in third at 56.93 meters.

Ian James picked up the other field event win with a victory in the triple jump with a leap of 14.04 meters and
Alex Cooper rounded out the top efforts in the field with a third place showing in the high jump with a clearance of 2.00 meters.

Michael Gauntner picked up the lone win on the track with a victory in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a PSAC qualifying time of 9:55.63.
Easton Adamczyk missed out on the PSAC mark by less than a four-tenths of a second, finishing in 10:05.36.

AJ Virata picked up a pair of season-bests to take second in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. He ran a time of 10.60 seconds in the finals of the 100m and clocked 21.41 seconds in the 200m.

Cade Adams earned a runner-up finish in the 400-meter hurdles in 55.53 seconds and
Matthew Crow was third in the 110-meter hurdle finals in 14.94 seconds. Crow also clocked a time of 14.50 seconds in the prelims.

Slippery Rock will hit the road again next week with plans to compete at three different meets, including the Susquehanna Multi Thursday and Friday, the Westminster Invitational Friday and Saturday and the Bucknell Outdoor Classic Saturday and Sunday.
