HOW THEY GOT HERE
In order to qualify for nationals, student-athletes must meet the NCAA provisional standard in their respective events and must declare to compete at the national meet. The NCAA then selects the top 18 individuals in each open event, the top 14 scores in the multi-events and the top 12 relay marks as official qualifiers for the championships.

ANNA IGIMS TO RUN 5K
Igims will be the lone representative from The Rock women's team and she will be the first SRU athlete to compete at nationals when she runs in the 5,000-meter finals Thursday at 6:15 p.m. Igims, who will make her indoor nationals debut, was accepted into the field as the No. 14 seed with her time of 16:36.79. She is looking to become an All-American for the third straight season after earning her first career All-America honor in the steeplechase at the 2024 outdoor national meet and following that up with an All-America finish at the cross country national meet last fall. Igims is the lone accepted entry in the 5K from the Atlantic Region.

WOMEN'S 5K FIELD BREAKDOWN
The top seed in the event is Colorado School of Mines senior Jenna Ramsey-Rutledge with a time of 15:40.98. Only two women have run below 16:08 this year, while seeds 3-9 have all run between 16:08 and 16:30. Seeds 10-18 have times between 16:30 and 16:41 with the final accepted entry being 16:41.15.

DREW LAYTON COMPETES IN POLE VAULT
Layton will compete Saturday at 2:25 p.m. in the pole vault. He was accepted into the field as the No. 17 seed with his clearance of 5.06 meters. It will mark his first indoor national meet, but his second straight trip to nationals after also qualifying for the 2024 outdoor meet. He picked up his first career All-America honor with a 10th place finish at nationals last spring. Layton, who won the PSAC title this winter, is the lone pole vault qualifier from the Atlantic Region.

POLE VAULT FIELD BREAKDOWN
The pole vault field features 18 men that recorded a height of at least 5.03 meters this year. The top seed in the field is Harding junior Vlad Malykhin with a clearance of 5.48 meters. Three men have gone 5.40 meters or higher this year and 12 men have reached 5.10 meters or higher.

SEATON WOZNIAK TO MAKE NATIONALS DEBUT
Wozniak will be making his first trip to a national meet indoor or outdoor and will compete in the shot put finals Saturday at 3:30 p.m. He qualified as the No. 16 seed with his SRU record throw of 17.58 meters. He will be one of two men from PSAC schools competing in the shot put as East Stroudsburg's Cole Gorham was also selected in the event. Gorham won the PSAC title this winter with Wozniak earning runner-up honors.

SHOT PUT FIELD BREAKDOWN
It took a throw of 17.50 meters or better to get into this year's field in the shot put. The top seed is Grand Valley State senior Myles Kerner with an impressive mark of 19.72 meters, which is the only throw in the nation this year above 19.0 meters. A total of 11 men have reached at least the 18.0-meter mark this year with the seven men seeded 12-18 owning marks between 17.50 meters and 17.94 meters.
