ASHLAND, Ohio – The Slippery Rock University men's indoor track & field team recorded five NCAA provisional marks, 20 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference automatic qualifying marks and 22 top-10 finishes at the Jud Logan Light Giver Invitational that wrapped up Saturday night from Ashland University.

The Rock tallied two NCAA marks on the track and three in the field with pole vaulter
Drew Layton leading the way in the 'elite" section of the event. He took fourth in a loaded field with a career-best clearance of 5.06 meters, which ranks No. 12 among all Division II athletes nationwide this winter. He was one of four SRU men to hit at least the PSAC standard in the pole vault.
Logan Gossard won the unseeded section of the competition with a clearance of 4.75 meters, just missing the NCAA mark of 4.78 meters.
Bradon Schneider was third at 4.60 meters and
Cullen Birkes was eighth at 4.45 meters.

Seaton Wozniak tallied another NCAA mark in the shot put to place third in the elite section with a throw of 16.96 meters, just shy of his season-best.
Joshua Gose was seventh at 16.17 meters, while
Logan Parker and
Zach Gose both hit the PSAC standard in the unseeded section. Parker took fifth with a toss of 15.36 meters and Gose was seventh with a throw of 15.14 meters.

The other NCAA mark in the field came from
Logan Anderson, who finished fourth in the heptathlon with a two-day score of 4,882 points.
Zack Duda was seventh with 4,670 points and
Ethan Folmer was 10th with 4,447 points. Anderson also hit the PSAC standard in the 60-meter hurdles (8.46 seconds) and Duda cleared the PSAC mark in the high jump (1.91m).

The two NCAA marks on the track came in the 60-meter races.
Kanye Thompson took second in the 60-meter dash finals in 6.75 seconds, just missing his career-best of 6.73 seconds. He was the top collegiate finisher in the race with only one unattached athlete ahead of him.
Matthew Crow took fifth in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles in 8.11 seconds, just off his SRU record of 8.08 seconds. Crow lined up in the lane next to U.S. Olympian and Ashland alumnus Trevor Bassitt, who took third in the finals in 8.01 seconds.

SRU picked up one more win in an unseeded event with
Ryan Oleksy posting a career-best effort of 17.82 meters to win the weight throw.
Zach Gose took third with a throw of 17.13 meters and
Joshua Rohland was 11th at 16.11 meters.

Logan Turton capped the PSAC qualifying efforts in the field with an 11th place showing in the high jump with a clearance of 1.90 meters.

AJ Virata tallied a pair of PSAC marks in the sprints this weekend. He was 10th in the 200-meter dash in 22.24 seconds and 22nd in the 60-meter dash in 7.04 seconds.

Eli Schreiber and
Joey Cintavey led the way for the distance runners with Cintavey placing ninth in the mile in 4:14.15 and Schreiber clocking a PSAC mark of 15:22.42 to take sixth in the 5,000-meter run.

SRU closed out the meet with a fifth place showing in the 4x400-meter relay, where
Kadin Johnson,
Nicholas Hartwick,
Danick Hinkson and
Kyle Rauchut clocked a time of 3:23.37.
