GENEVA, Ohio –
Seaton Wozniak broke the program record in the shot put to lead the Slippery Rock University men's track & field team to 21 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks, four NCAA provisional marks, four event wins and 31 top-10 finishes Saturday at the SPIRE Collegiate Indoor Games hosted by the SPIRE Academy.

Wozniak led SRU to a sweep of the throwing events when he improved his career-best in the shot put to an NCAA provisional mark of 17.33 meters. That breaks the former SRU record of 17.26 meters that was set by Anderson Novalin in 2018.
Joshua Gose also hit the NCAA standard to place second with a tow of 16.49 meters.

Zach Gose continued the SRU dominance in the throws when he won the weight throw with a new career-best and NCAA provisional mark of 18.28 meters. He led five SRU throwers to top 10 finishes in the weight throw with four others hitting the PSAC standard.
Ryan Oleksy was third at 16.63 meters with
Joshua Rohland placing fourth at 15.95 meters and
Andrew Demko finishing sixth at 14.99 meters.

The fourth NCAA mark came in the pole vault where
Drew Layton took third with a clearance of 4.80 meters.
Logan Gossard followed in fourth at 4.65 meters.

Both of the other event wins came on the track with one in an individual event and one in a relay.
Troy Hart took the individual crown in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:41.91 and the SRU 4x400-meter relay team of
Kadin Johnson,
Micah Good,
AJ Virata and
Kyle Rauchut won the event with a new season-best of 3:17.77. Johnson also hit the PSAC mark in the open 400-meter dash with a fifth place finish in 49.60 seconds.

Virata joined with
Benny Whitaker to clock a pair of PSAC times in the short sprints as well. Whitaker finished third in the 60-meter dash finals with a time of 6.93 seconds. Virata was sixth in the finals after clocking a time of 6.99 seconds in the prelims. Virata then finished fourth in the 200-meter dash in 22.07 seconds with Whitaker placing 10th in 22.41 seconds.

Joey Cintavey and
John Juszynski joined Hart in earning top three finishes in the distance races. Cintavey took second in the mile with a time of 4:17.18 and Juszynski was third in the 3,000-meter run in 8:43.16.

SRU tallied three PSAC marks in the triple jump with
Jason Alderson placing third with a leap of 14.21 meters,
Jack Thomas finishing fifth at 13.98 meters and
Zack Duda placing sixth at 13.87 meters. The PSAC qualifying efforts in the field were rounded out by
Grady Cobb with a seventh place finish in the high jump with a clearance of 1.90 meters.

Slippery Rock will return to action next Friday evening at the University of Mount Union for a last-chance qualifier before the PSAC Championships March 1-2.
