CHEVALIER CHASING 300
With two matches remaining in the season,
Callie Chevalier has a very realistic chance of getting to 300 kills for the year. The Rock's senior outside hitter opens the weekend with 281 kills. If Chevalier does tally at least 19 kills this weekend she will join
Erica Selfridge as the only two SRU athletes to have recorded 300 kills in a season over the last nine years.
Â
THE ROCK ATTACK
• Slippery Rock's attack has been spearheaded by the senior duo of Chevalier and VonderHaar.
Â
• Chevalier heads into the final weekend of the regular season nearing 300 kills. She currently sits at 281 (2.87 per set) on a .135 attack percentage while VonderHaar has totaled 193 on an efficient .264 attack percentage.
Â
•
Emry Rumbaugh will conclude her rookie season as The Rock's third-leading attacker. She heads to Gannon with 167 kills (1.84 kps) and a .177 attack percentage.
Â
•
Gwen McCarthy is SRU's other 100-kill athlete with 107 (1.88 kps) over her 20 matches played.
Â
• Rounding out The Rock's kills leaders in 2025 have been
Marley Annis (97 / 1.05),
Victoria Nalbach (79 / .214) and
Ava Haynes (72 / 1.12).
Â
• Guiding SRU's offense is the setting duo of
Paityn Krause (520 / 5.31) and
Jaeden Yost (327 / 3.80).
Â
• In addition to their setting efforts, Krause and Yost also lead Slippery Rock in aces. Yost currently holds team-high honors at 26 with Krause one off the senior's pace with 25.
Â
• Annis is right behind the duo with 21 aces followed in the top five by VonderHaar (13) and
Kara Pasquale (12).
Â
DEFENSIVELY SPEAKING
• VonderHaar's 124 total blocks and 1.27 blocks per set rank 13th across all of Division II in both statistical categories. She's spearheaded a Rock defense that ranks 30th in the nation in total team blocks.
Â
• In addition to her impressive rookie kill total, Rumbaugh has also produced 50 blocks, the second-highest total on the team.
Â
• Behind VonderHaar and Rumbaugh on The Rock's rejection ledger is Chevalier and
Addison Jones with 42 each. Nalbach (39) and Haynes (29) round out SRU's leading blockers.
Â
• Pasquale leads Slippery Rock's dig efforts with a career-high 448 (4.82 per set).
Â
• Chevalier (269) and Yost (205) have both eclipsed the 200-dig plateau as well with Krause closing in on joining the group with 196.
Â
• 50 of
Arielle Walter's 63 digs this season have come in her last five appearances.
Â
ROOKIE YEAR TO REMEMBER
Emry Rumbaugh quickly acquainted herself to the collegiate game as the freshman has started 18 of her 24 matches played en route to tallying 167 kills (1.84 kps / .177) and 50 blocks. With two matches remaining in the regular season, Rumbaugh has already amassed the seventh-highest kill total by a freshman at SRU over the last decade.
