In addition to always being competitive on the court, the Slippery Rock volleyball program also strives to succeed in the classroom. Slippery Rock has been a recipient of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for six straight years and ranks sixth in the Atlantic Region and 47th in Division II overall, out of 272 schools, in all-time AVCA Team Academic Award citations with 12.

While it is used by all Slippery Rock University athletes in some capacity throughout the year, Morrow Field House serves as the home court for the Slippery Rock volleyball team.

Along with the competition facilities, Morrow Field House also includes two of the primary weight training facilities on campus in the Garry Benford Weight Room and the Women's Athletics Training Room. All sports have access to the Benford Room, while all female athletes have access to the Women's Training Room. All teams also have access to the Olympic size swimming pool in Morrow Field House.

The field house also features the primary location for the athletic training services that are provided by The Rock's certified athletic trainers and available to all student-athletes.

In addition to the Jerry Bejbl Weight Training Center at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium and the Women's Athletic Training Room, all student-athletes at Slippery Rock University have access to the Garry Benford Weight Room in Morrow Field House.

The weight room, which is only available to varsity athletes with coaches supervision, is named in honor of former Slippery Rock University student Garry W. Benford, who has been a champion powerlifter throughout his life.

The weight room features racks, benches, dumbbells and various other training tools and is located adjacent to the volleyball court on the lower level of the field house.

To SRU campus: From I-79, take Exit 105 (Slippery Rock). Turn left at the stop sign at the end of the exit ramp and follow State Route 108 north into Slippery Rock. At the traffic light, turn right onto Main Street. Follow Main Street to the second traffic light (Keister Road). Turn left onto Keister Road and proceed to the flashing light. Turn left and go to the dead end. You are now on the SRU campus.

To Morrow Field House:

At the flashing light, turn left and proceed to the dead end. At the dead end, turn left to go to Morrow Field House, which will be directly ahead of you, or turn right to go to Visitors parking areas in the West Lake or East Lake parking areas. Please note: Parking adjacent to Morrow Field House is reserved for SRU staff during school hours but is available to the general public after 5 p.m. on weekdays and throughout the weekend.
