SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Paityn Krause, Kara Pasquale, Lauren VonderHaar and Jaeden Yost represented the Slippery Rock University volleyball team on the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday.

In order to be eligible to earn CSC Academic All-District recognition, a student-athlete must own a cumulative GPA above 3.50 and have significant athletic credentials. Additionally, athletes must have competed in 90 percent of their institution's matches or have started in at least 66 percent of its matches.

Nomination limits per institution are in place for each sport in which the CSC sponsors an academic all-district team. In the sport of volleyball, each school can nominate a maximum of four student-athletes.

Tuesday's announcement marks the third season in which Yost has been named to the CSC Academic All-District Team. VonderHaar is now a two-time recipient of the award while Krause and Pasquale are making their first appearances on the team.

All four student-athletes were terrific both in the classroom and on the court in 2025. To go with stellar grades, the quartet helped to make up the backbone of The Rock's 2025 roster on the court.

Yost, one of two Slippery Rock CSC Academic All-District selections to hold a perfect 4.00 GPA entering the semester, is a social work major with a minor in coaching. She wrapped up a great four-year career at The Rock by appearing all 106 sets of SRU's 2025 season on the way to producing 413 assists (3.90 per set), 33 aces and 222 digs as one of Slippery Rock's primary setters.

The Springfield, Ohio native leaves The Rock ranked seventh in program history for both assists (2,118) and aces (146) in a career while having played in all 112 of SRU's matches over the last four years.

Pasquale, a sophomore, has also maintained a perfect 4.00 GPA throughout the early stages of her academic career as an early childhood / special education major with a minor in adapted physical activity. The Rock's primary libero in 2025, Pasquale registered 492 digs (4.87 per set) and 13 aces over 26 matches. She concluded the year ranked 49th in the country in digs per set.

In addition to carrying a 3.77 GPA as management major with a marketing minor, VonderHaar was also one of the top middle blockers in the entire Atlantic Region in 2025. A starter in all 27 matches, VonderHaar garnered All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division honors thanks to a career-year that included 136 total blocks (43 solo / 1.28 per set), 204 kills, a .261 attack percentage and 14 aces.

VonderHaar, who ranked 15th in Division II in blocks per set and 16th in total blocks, leaves Slippery Rock as the program's career leader in total blocks (394) and in possession of three of the top eight single-season block totals in SRU history (2025-3rd, 2024-6th, 2023-8th).

Another member of Slippery Rock's sophomore class, Krause is a public health major and wellness minor with a 3.77 GPA. She started 19 of 27 matches played in 2025 as she joined forces with Yost to make up SRU's setter tandem. Krause capped off the season with 551 assists (5.20 per set), 25 aces and 215 digs. She'll enter her junior year in 2026 already ranked 16th at SRU for assists in a career (785).

Slippery Rock recently concluded its season with a 10-17 overall record.
