CANFIELD, Ohio – The Slippery Rock University men's cross country team took third at the Inaugural YSU Alumni XC Meet hosted by Youngstown State University Saturday at the Gorby Family Championship XC Course at MetroParks Farm in Canfield.

Charleston, the top ranked team in Division II's Atlantic Region, took the team title with a 25 points after putting all five scorers in the top nine places. Division III ranked team John Carroll took second with 52 points, followed by Slippery Rock in third with 98 points. West Virginia Wesleyan was fourth with 104 points and Division I Youngstown State was fifth with 122 points.

Troy Hart led the way for The Rock with a third place finish after covering the 8,000-meter course in 26:05.

Devon Navaroli was the second SRU finisher in 18th place in 27:10.
Eli Schreiber was the third SRU runner across the line in 24th place in 27:25.
Anthony Robare took 35th in 28:20 and
Ryan Czechowski was 36th in 28:27 to cap the point scorers.

Michael Gauntner finished 45th in 28:43 and
Michael Novak was 47th in 28:48 to round out the top seven runners for SRU. Â

Easton Adamczyk was the eighth runner across the line in his SRU debut in 48th place in 28:49.
Brady Hoffman was 49th in 28:53 and
John Juszynski was 55th in 29:04 to round out the top 10 finishers for SRU.

A total of 10 complete teams and 127 individual runners finished the race.

Slippery Rock will rest next week before returning to competition Oct. 5 at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University.
