SERIES HISTORY
Slippery Rock is looking to extend a five-game unbeaten streak against Clarion, outscoring the Golden Eagles 18-3 through a 4-0-1 record in the last five games. The two sides will be meeting for the 34th time with The Rock holding a 29-1-3 all-time lead in the series.

Clarion's lone win, a 2-1 decision in 2021, interrupted an eight-game streak of Slippery Rock victories. That said, a win for SRU over Clarion would be its 13th defeat of Clarion in 15 matches.

Slippery Rock is undefeated at home against Clarion with a 14-0-1 record that dates back to 2002. Clarion added the tie to that series history in the team's last trip to James Egli Field, playing SRU to a 2-2 draw last year.

All four goals in the game were scored in a matter of 6:02. Skylar Munnikhuysen gave The Rock a 1-0 lead in the 51st minute before Clarion added two quick strikes in the 53rd and 56th minutes to go up 2-1. Munnikhuysen scored again in the 57th minute to level things out at 2-2. The Rock were unable to find a game-winner despite outshooting Clarion, 22-6.

Kierstyn Maxey and Sydney Smith round out the group of 12 players with points each with one point from one assist.

HAPPY SENIOR DAY
Slippery Rock will honor eight seniors who are taking part in their last season with SRU prior to Saturday's game:

Maddie DeLucio – A midfielder from Greensburg, Pennsylvania, DeLucio has tallied 28 points on 11 goals and six assists. A three-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete, DeLucio enters Saturday having played an even 3,700 minutes through 50 matches. She has scored at least one goal in each of her four years at The Rock, including four game-winners.

Jaime Dermotta – A midfielder from Rillton, Pennsylvania, Dermotta has aided Slippery Rock's offense with her quickness and ambition through a four-year career at The Rock. The three-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete has seen time in 51 matches, netting seven points from three goals and one assist.

Faith Diffenbacher – A defender from Huron, Ohio, Diffenbacher is a force to be reckoned with on Slippery Rock's back line. Starting 52 of her 61 games with SRU, Diffenbacher has spent more than 5,200 minutes on the field. In that time, she has been a part of 25 shutouts. Diffenbacher has also played all but 18 minutes in the last three seasons.

Jessica Girard – A defender from Medina, Ohio, Girard was voted unanimously by her teammates and coaches to represent them as a team captain this year. Girard embodies the program's mission and goals and has become one of the most loyal and driven members of the Slippery Rock women's soccer program over her four years at The Rock.

Nina King – A defender from Washington, Pennsylvania, King has become a staple of consistency synonymous with SRU's defensive third. A three-time All-PSAC West honoree and an All-Atlantic Region selection, King has started all 69 matches she's appeared in at The Rock, adding three assists in the process.

Skylar Munnikhuysen – A forward from Ransomville, New York, Munnikhuysen is one of the most fearless attackers on the pitch SRU has had in the last three years. Since transferring to SRU from Niagara County Community College where she played basketball, Munnikhuysen has contributed 15 points on six goals and three assists in 49 games.

Sydney Patrick – A forward and midfielder from Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Patrick broke Slippery Rock's all-time assists record earlier this year, now with 29 assists in her 69 games. Patrick has also scored 14 goals in that span, being named to both the All-PSAC West team and the United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region squad a year ago.

Olivia Yoder – A forward and midfielder from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Yoder enters Saturday's fixture with a dozen points on four goals and four assists, with one goal being scored in each of her four years at The Rock. With the ability to play both centrally and on the wing, Yoder has made 55 career appearances wearing the Green and White.

DEFENSE ALLOWING NOTHING PAST
SRU's defense, which was made up of Diffenbacher, King, Smith and Zacharyasz against IUP last week, held the opponent scoreless for the second time in five games. The nationally ranked Crimson Hawks were held to seven shots and four looks on target. IUP was only allowed three total shots and stymied to zero corner kicks through the first half.

ANOTHER BLANK SLATE FOR LEAH
Allman secured her fifth shutout of her sophomore campaign after making a quartet of saves against the Crimson Hawks. The goalkeeper from Olmsted Township, Ohio, who holds a 2-0-1 career record against Clarion, heads into Saturday with a GAA of 1.00 and a save percentage of .790 on the season.

SOPHIA SEEING BULLSEYE
Palermo scored Slippery Rock's lone goal last week in The Rock's 3-1 loss to UPJ but has also performed offensively with pristine accuracy. Through her last three games, the sophomore from Wexford, Pennsylvania has landed eight of her nine shots on target and now leads Slippery Rock with 16 shots on goal.

Palermo has averaged 1.3 shots on goal per game, ranking 11th in the PSAC. She has also collected six points on the year, coming from two goals and two assists.

AN INSISTENT OFFENSE
The Rock have outshot their last three opponents by an average of 17-8, accumulating 51 shots over their last three contests. SRU has also won an increased amount of corner kicks through those games, a cumulative 23-7 difference against the opposition.

Slippery Rock still ranks third in the PSAC with 1.8 assists and 6.5 corner kicks per game. SRU also stacks up fourth in the conference with 16.3 shots and 8.1 shots on goal per match and is fifth in the PSAC with 5.2 points per game.

MORE THAN A WEEK OF HOME GAMES
Slippery Rock will be playing its final of three straight home games, a homestand that included a built-in bye week. While The Rock have lost only twice at home this year, their home record stands at 1-2-3 with two guaranteed home games remaining. SRU will look to win out for a home record above .500, playing Edinboro 3 p.m. Nov. 6 at James Egli Field.

Saturday's matchup with Clarion marks SRU's sixth home game in its last seven total contests.

GOING FOR THE SWEEP
A win over Clarion would give Slippery Rock its first PSAC West sweep of the season after defeating the Golden Eagles 6-0 on the road earlier this year.

Clarion was not one of the four PSAC West teams that SRU swept a year ago: Edinboro, IUP, Pitt-Johnstown and Seton Hill.

REVISITING SRU'S LAST MEETING WITH CLARION
Slippery Rock's last game against Clarion – its 6-0 road win Sept. 28 – forced The Rock to make several adjustments to their program's single-game record book:

• SRU's 22 points on six goals and 10 assists tied for second all-time.

• 10 assists ranked second all-time behind 11 against UPJ in 2014.

• The Rock took 39 total shots, second all-time behind posting 43 shots against UPJ in 2023.

• McGee's six points on two goals and two assists tied her for 12th all-time.

• Sarver's nine shots against the Golden Eagles ranked third behind her own records of 11, which she has done on two separate occasions.

• That game was also SRU's second straight 6-0 win, marking the sixth time in school history that The Rock have scored at least 12 goals in two consecutive games.

WHERE THEY STAND
Slippery Rock still ranks third in the PSAC West, three points behind a two-way tie for the lead between Gannon University and IUP and four points above the current conference playoff cut line. The top four teams in the PSAC West will qualify for the PSAC Tournament.

While Slippery Rock cannot mathematically clinch a berth in the PSAC Tournament Saturday, a win over Clarion would certainly put The Rock in a more comfortable situation heading into their final three games of 2024.

RECORD WATCH
Patrick and Sarver have both solidified themselves in the top 15 all-time in shots attempted. Sarver jumped past Ashley Rea for ninth place with 141 shots, while Patrick has climbed to 14th with 117.

With 57 points, Patrick moved into sole possession for 17th all-time. One more assist would tie her for 16th with Jordyn Minda (2018-21).

Allman stacks up eighth with 17 all-time wins, third with six career ties and 10th with 10 total shutouts. Now with 32 career starts, the Olmsted Township, Ohio goalkeeper ranks seventh in school history, three behind Lauren McManus (2006-09).

CLARION SCOUTING REPORT
Even with a win over Slippery Rock, Clarion enters the weekend mathematically eliminated from PSAC Tournament contention after falling to Edinboro on the road, 1-0.

The Golden Eagles picked up their first conference win of the season Oct. 19 with a 2-0 home victory over California (Pa.). Clarion's season began with a non-conference win over Ursuline College in a 2-1 decision. All of Clarion's PSAC West losses except for one 3-2 loss to Edinboro, have been shutouts.

True freshman Tessa Heffron leads Clarion with five points on two goals and one assist, while Sage Sherk has been the go-to goalkeeper for the Golden Eagles. A sophomore from Myerstown, Pennsylvania, Sherk ranks second in the PSAC with 6.6 saves per game.

The Rock will next travel to Gannon University for a 6 p.m. kickoff Oct. 30. The Golden Knights were ranked seventh nationally in the most recent United Soccer Coaches poll. SRU tied then-No. 5 Gannon, 1-1, Oct. 2 at home.
