SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – For the fourth consecutive year, the Slippery Rock University women's soccer team landed six student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday.
Â
In order to be eligible to earn a CSC Academic All-District selection, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and own a cumulative GPA above 3.50 while having significant athletic credentials. Additionally, athletes must have competed in 90 percent of their institution's games or have started in at least 66 percent of its games.

Leah Allman,
Bailey McGee,
Sophia Palermo,
Marissa Salisbury,
Sydney Smith and
Libby Zacharyasz were all named to this year's CSC Academic All-District Team. Zacharyasz is now a three-time CSC Academic All-District selection. Palermo and McGee are making their second appearances on the team. Allman, Salisbury and Smith are first time honorees.

Zacharyasz, Salisbury and Palermo will move on to the national ballot for CSC Academic All-America Team consideration after they were all advanced forward by a national committee. The Academic All-America teams will be announced Dec. 17.

Slippery Rock recently completed its 2025 season with a 12-4-1 overall record in addition to winning the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division regular season championships via a 12-1-1 league record. SRU, which narrowly missed qualifying for the NCAA Tournament, was ranked as high 23rd in the nation in the United Soccer Coaches poll during the regular season.

• Allman served as The Rock's primary goalie for a third consecutive season, starting all 17 games and making 58 saves on a .763 save percentage to go with a 1.10 Goals Against Average and seven shutouts to garner second team All-PSAC West accolades. Allman will enter her senior season in 2026 ranked fourth in program history in career wins, fourth in shutouts and fifth in saves.

• One of two team captains in 2025, McGee shined in a full season of competition after missing the final six games of 2024 due to injury. Over 13 games, 12 of which were starts, McGee totaled six points on two goals and two assists to go with 11 of her 27 shots being on target.

• Palermo followed up on her breakout 2024 season with another strong 2025 campaign that concluded with her earning second team All-PSAC West honors as a midfielder. Palermo totaled 12 points on two goals and a team-best eight assists while tallying 15 shots on goal. Both of her goals were game-winners. She ended the year ranked 22nd in the nation in assists per game (0.47) and 29th in total assists.

• A starter in all 17 games in her lone season at The Rock, Salisbury led Slippery Rock's offense through the duration of the season, finishing with 21 points on eight goals and five assists while placing 20 of her 44 shots on goal. For her efforts, Salisbury earned second team All-PSAC West honors.

• The heart of The Rock's back line, Smith earned first team All-PSAC West honors after leading a defense that gave up the sixth fewest goals per game in the PSAC in 2025 in addition to producing one assist and five shots offensively. A starter in 16 of her 17 games played, Smith averaged 77.8 minutes played per game.

Major: Exploratory (Homeland Security graduate)

• One of two team captains along with McGee, Zacharyasz provided The Rock with another standout season en route to earning back-to-back All-PSAC West honors and becoming only the fourth player in program history to earn consecutive first team all-conference honors as a midfielder. Zacharyasz started all 17 games, scored four game-winning goals and played the second most minutes of all non-goalies on the roster (1,362 / 80.1 mpg).
