LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Slippery Rock University head coach
Noreen Herlihy took home Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Coach of the Year honors and The Rock women's soccer team landed six All-PSAC West selections when the league announced its postseason awards Tuesday.
Slippery Rock's all-conference accolades mark the sixth consecutive year that The Rock have garnered at least four All-PSAC West Team members.
Herlihy repeats as the PSAC West Coach of the Year after also earning the recognition following 2024 season as the head coach at Indiana University (Pa.). With this selection, Herlihy is now a five-time PSAC Coach of the Year award winner. She also earned the award in 1996, 2003 and 2012.
Herlihy led Slippery Rock to a PSAC West title for the first time since 2019 in her first year back at the program. This fall, she led Slippery Rock to a 12-1-1 PSAC West record, the fifth division title in program history. Under Herlihy's guidance, Slippery Rock entered the United Soccer Coaches National Poll for the first time since 2021, with a ranking of 25, which the team still holds. Now in her 21
st overall season at Slippery Rock, she owns a 262-116-31 record, the most wins in SRU history in any sport. Herlihy's 317 career wins rank her 23
rd all-time in NCAA women's soccer history, regardless of the level.
Slippery Rock had the second most selections in the PSAC West with six honorees to the All-PSAC team, which ranks tied for the third most All-PSAC selections for a single season in program history.
The Rock had a pair of first team honorees and four second team selections. Defender

Libby Zacharyasz earned first team honors. Defender
Kailyn Schulte, forward
Marissa Salisbury, midfielder
Sophia Palermo and goalkeeper
Leah Allman were chosen as second team selections.
Zacharyasz, a senior from Strongsville, Ohio, becomes a two-time All-PSAC honoree after earning first team honors in 2024 before adding another first team selection this fall.
A brief look at season accomplishments of each of the six Slippery Rock All-PSAC honorees can be found below.
Sydney Smith – 1st Team Defense
Smith started 15 of the 16 games she played this season. She helped lead a defensive unit that gave up the sixth fewest goals per game in the conference. In her senior season, Smith played a total of 1,234 minutes (77.1/game). She registered her first career assist against Edinboro.
Libby Zacharyasz – 1st Team Midfield
Zacharyasz compiled four goals, all game-winners, while registering 25 shots and eight shots on goal. Zacharyasz started all 16 games and played a total of 1,289 minutes (80.6/game). Zacharyasz is the fourth player in program history to earn back-to-back All-PSAC first team honors as a midfielder.
Kailyn Schulte – 2nd Team Defense
Schulte started 9 of the 11 games she played this year. She helped lead a defensive unit that gave up the sixth fewest goals per game in the conference. In her freshman season, Schulte played a total of 846 minutes (76.9/game). The last time Slippery Rock had a freshman All-PSAC defender, was when
Nina King earned the honors in 2021.
Marissa Salisbury – 2nd Team Forward
Salisbury led Slippery Rock with 21 points on eight goals and five assists. She also recorded 41 shots and 20 shots on goal. In her senior season, Salisbury started all 16 games and played a total of 1,148 minutes (71.8/game).
Sophia Palermo – 2nd Team Midfield
Palermo had 12 points on two goals and eight assists. Her eight helpers are the 18
th most in Division II. Both of Palermo's goals were game-winners. She also registered 27 shots and 14 shots on goal. In her junior season, Palermo started all 16 games and played a total of 1,165 minutes (72.8/game).
Leah Allman – 2nd Team Goalkeeper
Allman ranked sixth in the conference in GAA with a mark of .91. Also, she ranked seventh in the PSAC with a .791 save percentage. In her junior season, Allman started all 16 games and played a total of 1,380 minutes (86.3/game), while earning seven total shutouts..
The Rock will host Millersville in the PSAC quarterfinals 1 p.m. today at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
