The Rock and the Golden Knights will be meeting for the 34th time Wednesday, a historically even series that Gannon holds a slim 15-14-4 lead in. The Golden Knights have not allowed an SRU win since 2021, posting a 0-4-3 record in the last seven matchups.

The Rock have defended home soil well against Gannon and are 9-5-2 when hosting the Golden Knights. Despite Gannon holding SRU to no wins in the series over the last seven fixtures, The Rock are 2-0-2 at home versus Gannon since 2019.

Ashley Rea played her last career game at James Egli Field with second-half heroics last year against Gannon, earning a hat trick to tie at 3-3 after trailing by three at halftime. SRU clinched the third seed in the PSAC West while leading in shots (17-10) and shots on goal (6-5). GU took four of the match's five corner kicks.

With Gannon earning the second seed in the PSAC West, the two sides met six days later in Erie for the first round of the PSAC Tournament. LAST TIME OUT
Slippery Rock cruised to its second consecutive 6-0 win, posting the scoreline at Clarion Sept. 28. Bailey McGee excelled with two goals (10', 54') and two assists, while Morgan Sarver netted a brace herself (64', 81') while leading SRU with nine total shots and five shots on goal.

Munnikhuysen (50') and Maddie DeLucio (90') rounded out the scoring, as Sophia Palermo joined DeLucio with two assists. Sydney Patrick earned two assists as well, while Ava Balazentis and Olivia Yoder each assisted once.

SRU came out of the offensive clinic with convincing leads in shots (39-6), shots on goal (21-1) and corner kicks (10-1). Leah Allman made one save to secure her second straight shutout.

LEADING THE ROCK
McGee and Patrick both lead SRU with nine points, but in vastly different ways: McGee saw all nine points on her three goals and three assists come in the last two games, while Patrick has scored just once but has also recorded seven assists. Together, the duo has combined for 12 shots on goal in 21 shot attempts.

All eight of Sarver's points have come from four goals, as she stands on top of SRU's shot-taking with 22 attempts in total. She also leads SRU with a team-high nine shots on goal. DeLucio's balanced attack has earned her six points from two goals and two assists, third on the squad with 12 shots.

Palermo and Zacharyasz both have four points, with Palermo's stemming from one goal and two assists and Zacharyasz scoring twice. Zacharyasz ranks second in shots with 21, just one behind Sarver. Together, Sarver and Zacharyasz make up 32.8 percent of SRU's shots (43-of-121).

Yoder's one goal and one assist for three points both came in the last two games. She has taken 11 shots, the most of anyone who has not started a game this year. Balazentis has two points this year on two assists, joining Munnikhuysen and Faith Diffenbacher, who each have two points on one goal.

Kierstyn Maxey and Sydney Smith round out the 12 different players with points on the season with one apiece from an assist.

After Sarver, Zacharyasz and DeLucio, Patrick and Yoder both have 11 shots. McGee and Palermo have both taken 10, the final two of seven players who have crossed into double digits in shots on the year.

HAVE A WEEK, BAILEY
McGee was named the PSAC West Athlete of the Week after leading The Rock to their pair of 6-0 wins, the conference office announced Sept. 30. The sophomore entered the week with one career point on one assist and ended up racking up nine points in two games, from three goals and three assists.

In addition to her nine points that included the first three goals of her career, McGee landed four of her seven total shots on net.

Slippery Rock's first goal against Edinboro came off the foot of Zacharyasz, who finished off a 16th-minute 40-yard cross sent in by McGee to earn an assist. She ended up scoring on her lone shot of the game, a blazing line drive from outside the box in the 60th minute to lift SRU to a 4-0 lead over the Fighting Scots.

McGee didn't have to wait long for her second and third goals in her collegiate career, finding them both in SRU's 6-0 win at Clarion that followed. The Aurora, Ohio native produced Slippery Rock's lone first-half goal against the Golden Eagles, burying a rebounded shot from DeLucio in the 10th minute.

She then assisted Munnikhuysen's 50th-minute strike that gave SRU a 2-0 lead and netted a brace just 3:26 later in the 54th minute. Her final point of the outstanding week came in the 64th minute by assisting Sarver's goal that made the score 4-0. McGee concluded her 81-minute stint at Clarion with three of six shot attempts landing on frame.

McGee is now the fifth member of Slippery Rock's active roster to win a PSAC weekly award. Zacharyasz was named the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week two weeks ago, while Diffenbacher, Patrick and Sarver were all named to a PSAC weekly award at least once last year.

ASSISTING HER WAY TO A PROGRAM RECORD
Coming into Clarion with 26 career assists, Patrick only needed one to break Slippery Rock's all-time record. She left the 6-0 victory at Clarion with two assists, getting to a career tally of 28 to surpass Ashley Paganie (26) for the school record.

Playing in her fourth full season, Patrick now has 54 points on 13 goals and 28 assists. 23 of those points came last year, stemming from six goals and 11 assists. Patrick's 2023 campaign is tied for second all-time at SRU for assists in a single season.

In addition to earning second team All-PSAC West honors, the Greensburg, Pennsylvania product was also named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region Team a year ago.

Patrick enters Wednesday ranked second in Division II with 1.0 assist per game. She is one of four Division II players nationwide with seven assists on the year.

Assists per game (Divisions I* and II)
1. Faith Matter (West Chester, 1.2)

A DOZEN GOALS IN A WEEK
Slippery Rock's week against Edinboro and Clarion marked the first time in program history that the team scored at least six goals in back-to-back games. The pair of games is the sixth time in SRU history that The Rock have scored at least 12 goals in two consecutive games and is tied for fourth all-time in two-game margin of victory:

Top SRU two-game scoring totals:
1. 16 (Def. New York Tech 6-0 and Saint Vincent 10-0 in 1999)
2. 14 (Def. Geneva 2-1 and Pitt-Bradford 12-0 in 1996)

T3. 13 (Def. IUP 2-1 and La Roche 11-0 in 1996)
6. 12 (Def. Edinboro 6-0 and Clarion 6-0 in 2024)

Top SRU two-game combined margin of victory:
1. +16 (1999 vs. New York Tech and Saint Vincent)

The two matches also mark the largest scoring total as well as the largest two-game margin of victory in head coach Jessica Giegucz's career.

MAKING ROOM IN THE RECORD BOOK
Slippery Rock's 6-0 win at Clarion included multiple amendments to the program's all-time single-game record book:

• McGee's six points on two goals and two assists ties her for 12th all-time.

• Sarver's nine shots tie her for third all-time behind her own record off 11 on two separate occasions.

• SRU's 22 points on six goals and 10 assists is tied for second all-time in recorded history. The Rock earned 22 points in a 7-1 win against Seton Hill University in 2011 and 31 points in a 10-0 win over UPJ in 2014.

• This is the 11th time in program history that SRU has won a road game by six goals or more. Last week's win over Edinboro marked the first occurrence of such a victory since a 7-0 win at Mansfield University in 2017.

• 10 assists rank second all-time behind 11 assists against UPJ in 2014.

• 39 total shots rank second all-time behind 43 shots at UPJ last year.

AN OFFENSIVE ANALYSIS
With its recent surge in offensive production, Slippery Rock ranks well in the PSAC in multiple statistics. The Rock now lead the PSAC in assists per game at 2.7, good enough for sixth in Division II.

Slippery Rock is second in the PSAC and 25th nationally with 9.0 shots on goal per game. SRU's 7.6 points per game is also second in the PSAC and 13th in Division II.

The Rock additionally rank in the top five conference-wide in corner kicks (fourth, 6.6), fouls per game (fourth, 7.3), goals per game (fourth, 2.4) and shots per game (third, 18.7)

NO GOALS GOT BY, EITHER
An area of the field that should not be overlooked despite the 12 goals in the last two games is Slippery Rock's defensive third, coming off its second straight shutout.

Led by Diffenbacher, Smith, Zacharyasz and Nina King, Slippery Rock has limited its opponents to an average of seven shots, two shots on goal and 2.5 corner kicks per game through its last two outings.

Slippery Rock's last back-to-back shutouts came a year ago, defeating Pitt-Johnstown 5-0 and Seton Hill 2-0 within a three-day window. A shutout against Gannon would mark The Rock's third straight blank slate for the first time since a five-shutout streak in 2022 – a series of wins and ties that included a 0-0 draw against the Golden Knights.

A CLEAN SWEEP OF CLEAN SHEETS
Allman recorded her ninth career shutout against Edinboro, the second time she has earned consecutive clean sheets in her career. The sophomore comes into the week with a 1.00 GAA and a save percentage of .800 that ranks seventh in the conference.

THE ROCK vs. RANKED TEAMS
Slippery Rock is looking for its third straight win over a nationally ranked opponent and its fourth in the last five times The Rock have matched up with a ranked team.

SRU most recently upset No. 18 Mercyhurst University last year in a 2-1 win at James Egli Field. Slippery Rock's highest ranked win has come in defeating the No. 6 team in the nation twice – a 3-0 win over California (Pa.) in 2013 and a 1-0 victory against the Vulcans in 2014. SRU tied No. 3 East Stroudsburg University, 1-1, in 2016.

HOLDING DOWN THE FORT
Slippery Rock is looking to extend a 13-game undefeated run at James Egli Field and an 11-game unbeaten streak in all home games when matchups played at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium are factored in.

In the last five years, SRU has put together an impressive 34-6-10 (.780) record at home, highlighted by a 7-0-2 stretch in 2023. Last season's strong home stance marked the team's first perfect record on home soil since 2007's 12-0 effort.

RECORD WATCH
Patrick and Sarver have both solidified themselves in the top 15 all-time in shots attempted. Patrick just moved into 15th in SRU history with 112, while Sarver has entered the top 10 with 134. She is three away from Rea's 137 in ninth.

With 54 points, Patrick moved into the top 20 all-time in a tie with Kayla Swope for 18th. She is 10 points out of the top 10, guarded by Jen Canucci and Beth Kimball with 64.

Allman recorded her 76th career save against Clarion, tying Annabelle Hegeman for 10th all-time. Melinda Swan's 85 ranks ninth in school history. Allman's 15th win in net jumped Hegeman for eighth all-time. With nine shutouts, she is one away from a tie for 10th.

Head coach Giegucz picked up her 98th win at Slippery Rock last week, closing in on her 100th win as SRU's head coach. Giegucz, who was the head coach at Division III Northland College in 2014, earned her 100th career win last season.

GANNON SCOUTING REPORT
The Golden Knights' 5-0 start was comprised of a 3-1 win over the No. 20 University of Charleston followed by four straight shutout victories. Gannon found itself outside of the win column last week though, when Cal stunned the second-ranked Golden Knights with a 0-0 draw to set GU back to 5-0-1.

That tie in part dropped GU from No. 2 to No. 5 in this week's USC Division II poll.

Of the 11 goals Gannon scored on SRU last year in three meetings, Brooklyn Respecki scored two of them. Now a sophomore, Respecki ranks second in Division II with 1.2 goals per game and leads the nation with 6.2 shots per game.

Fellow sophomore Grace Emanuel, who scored five goals against SRU last year including a hat trick, ranks second on the team with seven points on two goals and three assists.

Morgan Sinan, who was named the PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Week Sept. 30, is back in net for the Golden Knights as a graduate student. The Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania goaltender has given up just one goal this year, racking up 4.5 shutouts in six appearances. Her 0.17 GAA ranks fourth nationally while her .923 save percentage is 10th in Division II.

Gannon ranks fifth in the PSAC in scoring offense (2.3) but third in Division II in scoring defense (0.2). The Golden Knights also rank sixth nationally with 20.3 shots per game and fourth in D-II with 10.3 shots on goal per game.

LOOKING AHEAD
The Rock will host California 1 p.m. Saturday at James Egli Field in their annual Bobby McGraw Memorial Game. SRU went 1-0-1 against the Vulcans a year ago including a 2-0 win at home.
