SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock University will compete in one of the top track and field meets in the Atlantic Region over the course of the next three days when it travels to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania for the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University April 14-16.

COLLEGE TEAMS AND RUNNING CLUBS COMPETING
There are 144 college and club teams scheduled to compete, making the meet one of the largest on the East Coast. Teams from all three NCAA divisions will be in action, including multiple Division I teams from "Power Five" conferences and many of the Division II teams from the region.

QUICK MEN'S PREVIEW
Slippery Rock will send 30 men to compete in 18 events over the course of the three days. The Rock will see six individuals competing in events in which they currently rank in the top 50 among all Division II athletes, headlined by throwers
John Eakin and
Dalton Anderson.
Â
Eakin enters the shot put this weekend ranked 12th in Division II with a mark of 17.40 meters. He will be joined in the event by
Joshua Gose, who ranks 24th in the nation with a toss of 16.94 meters.
Â
Anderson enters the meet ranked 12th in Division II in the javelin with a throw of 63.53 meters.

The Rock's next highest ranked event nationally is the 4x100-meter relay, which ranks 29th with a time of 40.98 seconds. That relay was anchored by
Bryan Dworek, who will be replaced this weekend by
Cam Lindsey as Dworek takes the week off.
AJ Virata,
Kadin Johnson and
Matthew Crow are also expected to run the relay. Virata will also run the open 100-meter and 200-meter dashes and a leg of the 4x400-meter relay this weekend. He enters the meet ranked No. 1 in the PSAC in the 100m and No. 2 in the 200m.

QUICK WOMEN'S PREVIEW
Slippery Rock will send 31 women to compete in 19 events this weekend. Just like the men, SRU will have six women competing in events this weekend in which they currently rank in the top 50 among all Division II athletes.

Sarah Corrie headlines that list with her performance of 14.21 meters in the shot put, which is currently No. 13 among all Division II throwers.
Â
SRU has two more throwers competing this weekend that own top 50 marks nationally, including
Tiffany Jolayemi in the hammer throw (33rd at 51.37m) and
Skylar Sherry in the javelin (43rd at 40.23m).
Â
The Rock will also see two more field event athletes in action with top 50 national marks this weekend as
Kendall Grossman (pole vault, 3.61m) and
Aleks Brozeski (triple jump, 11.52m) both enter the meet ranked 46th nationally in their respective events.

The top track athlete for SRU entering this weekend is distance runner
Anna Igims, who will compete in the steeplechase for the second time this spring. Her debut time of 11:24.17 currently ranks No. 39 in Division II.
