The Slippery Rock women’s soccer team hosts Seton Hill for a PSAC West contest 3 p.m. Saturday at James Egli Field.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team hosts Seton Hill University for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division contest 3 p.m. Saturday at James Egli Field.

SERIES HISTORY vs SETON HILL
Slippery Rock holds a solid 12-3 lead in the all-time series over Seton Hill. SRU is a perfect 7-0 when hosting the Griffins and has allowed no more than one goal in all but three contests.
 
LAST MEETING
Slippery Rock defeated Seton Hill 3-1 on Oct. 16, 2021. The Rock's offensive surge was led by the duo of Rachel Edge with two goals and Kayla Swope with a goal of her own while the trio of Katy Ericson, Nina King and Sydney Patrick all dished out assists.

LAST TIME OUT
The Rock was edged, 1-0, on the road Wednesday by PSAC West opponent Gannon. SRU's offense was led by Ashley Rea who placed both of her shots of the evening on goal as well as Olivia Yoder who tallied The Rock's other shot. Emma Yoder made two saves over 90 minutes.
 
HOME SWEET HOME
Since Jessica Giegucz's inaugural season in 2015, Slippery Rock has produced a 32-11-2 record when playing at James Egli Field. In those 45 contests, SRU has outscored its opponents 114-39 while tallying 17 shutout victories.
 
Historically, The Rock has found sustained success in its first conference contest played at home. SRU is 19-4-4 and holds a +34 (65-31) goal margin over the competition in addition to claiming 10 shutout wins and holding the opposition to no more than one goal on 20 occasions.
 
ROCK SOLID DEFENSE
Leading The Rock's defense is Yoder who has compiled a 0.67 goals against average and .818 save percentage while tallying nine saves in the entirety of three contests.
 
For the season, SRU's backline has held it opponents to just two goals. Additionally, Slippery Rock's defense has come up big in the second half of competition keeping its competitors to no goals and just eight total shots through three games.
 
A LOOK AT THE OFFENSE
Early offensive leaders for Slippery Rock include Rea and Jaime Dermotta who both have one goal apiece this season. Aiding in the scoring efforts is Kylee Kosek who has dished out the teams only assist thus far.
 
Lending a helping hand to the offensive efforts are four players who have placed shots on goal in Rea (4), Swope (3), Dermotta (2), and Patrick (2).
 
CONFIDENT IN THE CONFERENCE
The SRU women's soccer team holds a strong 66-22-8 conference record under Giegucz. All told, Slippery Rock has not had a losing conference record since the 1997 season and has only had four total seasons where it did not hold a winning divisional mark by the end of the year.
 
BOUNCE-BACK WINS
In 28 active season's Slippery Rock's women's soccer program has traditionally bounced back successfully after facing its first loss of the season. There have only been seven seasons in which The Rock did not follow its first loss of the year with a win. Specifically under Giegucz, SRU is 4-1-1 in the game after its first loss of the year.

SCOUTING THE GRIFFINS
Last time out: Seton Hill claimed a 2-0 home victory over Clarion in its first PSAC West competition of the year.
 
Leading the Griffins' offense through three games is the duo of Madison Carr and Corynna Rotoli who have scored three and two goals respectively. Aiding in the offense are Jessica Molitoris and Brenna Springer with two assists each.
 
Over the entirety of three contests, goalkeeper Lindsey Pazdziorko has a perfect GAA and save percentage as she has not allowed any goals yet this season, in addition to having made seven saves.
