PUSHING TOWARDS THE POSTSEASON
With Saturday's match marking the halfway point in SRU's PSAC West schedule, Slippery Rock currently finds itself fourth in the division with six points. The top three teams in both the PSAC West and PSAC East standings at the conclusion of the regular season qualify for the conference tournament.
The Rock are just one point behind Seton Hill for third, making Saturday's match a key one for both teams.
If Slippery Rock can secure the third spot by the end of the season it will earn its second trip to the PSAC Tournament over the last three contested seasons – there was no 2020 tournament due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Slippery Rock enters the weekend with a 17-12-4 (.515) record, since the inaugural season of head coach

Tuesday's contest was the first for Davies who joined The Rock after transferring from Division I Rutgers University. Davies played 9:56 of the contest and the SRU defense did not allow a shot in his direction.
As a team, SRU has allowed just seven first-half goals this year and the eighth lowest total in the PSAC with 18.

With at least seven games remaining in the season, Pla Hernandis has already set career-high for goals in a season while tying his previous personal-best point total. He has also accounted for 34 percent of The Rock's shots on goal this year (13-of-38).
Following is Sean Spencer who is also tied for fourth in the conference in game-winning goals (2) to go along with five points on two goals and one assist.
