SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's soccer team hosts Pitt-Johnstown in its season finale 2 p.m. Thursday at James Egli Field.
Slippery Rock enters the matchup with a 6-7-3 record overall with a 3-4-2 record in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division, while Pitt-Johnstown holds a 7-7-1 overall record and a 2-6-1 mark in the PSAC West.

SERIES HISTORY
Slippery Rock and Pitt-Johnstown first played in 1971, resulting in a 5-1 Rock victory. Since then, SRU and UPJ have played 52 times over the past 53 years. Between 1971 and 2012, they faced off once per year almost every season since, but started playing twice a year when Pitt-Johnstown joined the PSAC in 2013. Slippery Rock owns a 42-9-1 record all-time against Pitt-Johnstown and a 24-4-0 record at home against the Mountain Cats.

The match against Pitt-Johnstown marks the final PSAC West game for SRU. With this match as the only one remaining Slippery Rock has been eliminated from PSAC Tournament contention. Gannon University, Seton Hill University and Lock Haven University claimed the conference tournament spots from the Western Division.
The top three teams in both the PSAC West and PSAC East standings at the conclusion of the season qualify for the conference tournament.

Slippery Rock has played three different goalkeepers during its 2025 campaign. Kaufman and
Troy Nine have split time with
Dylan Bliss appearing in one game this season. Kaufman owns a 3-6-3 record with 38 saves on a .623 save percentage, while allowing 23 goals for a 1.85 goals against average.
Nine is 3-1-0 with seven saves on a .700 save percentage, while allowing three goals for a 0.86 GAA with two shutouts.

Reynolds sits second in the conference with three game-winning goals, while Irani sits fifth in that category with two game-winners.
Kaufman ranks sixth in the PSAC in saves per game with 2.92 and fifth in shutouts with four.

PITT-JOHNSTOWN SCOUTING REPORT
The Mountain Cats have made huge improvements from 2024 to 2025. Pitt-Johnstown has already seen a four-win increase with one game to play. The Mountain Cats own a 7-7-1 record overall with a 2-6-1 record in the PSAC West.
Pau Cano leads UPJ with eight goals, five assists and 21 points. Ryan Kyei Boahen (6) and Jaeger James (5) round out the top three goalscorers for Pitt-Johnstown. Five other Pitt-Johnstown players have scored at least one goal this season.
James (3), Noah Pawlling (4) and Marshall Richter (3) trail Cano in assists, and are the four Pitt-Johnstown players with multiple assists.
Jacob Tichnell and Sebastian Roman Rivera have split time in goal for Pitt-Johnstown this season. Tichnell is 6-3-0 with a 2.40 GAA and a .630 save percentage, while Roman Rivera is 1-4-1 with a 3.04 GAA and a .646 save percentage. Tichnell made two saves in UPJ's 2-0 los to The Rock earlier this season.
