UPJ Results
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's track and field team wrapped up the regular season with 17 top five finishes at the Pitt-Johnstown Last Chance Meet and 12 top five finishes at the Lock Haven Qualifier Saturday afternoon.

The Rock split its team with some distance runners and throwers traveling to Lock Haven University and the majority of the rest of the squad traveling to Windber High School in Johnstown for a meet hosted by Pitt-Johnstown.

Saturday's competitions marked the final chance for SRU athletes to improve their season bests before the PSAC Championship field will be selected Monday evening. Only the top 16 declared performances in each event will be accepted to the PSAC meet this spring.

The Rock won four events at Lock Haven and had runner-up finishes in the only other two events the team entered.
Eric Schulz won both the shot put (14.23 meters) and discus (45.52 meters) while also placing fifth in the hammer (35.75 meters) to lead the throwers, while
Devon Navaroli won the 5,000-meter run (16:00.43) and
Ozzy Moore won the 10,000-meter run (36:16.15).

Logan Hogue was third in the 10,000m in 37:07.19 and
Nathan Eadie was second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:38.70 to cap the efforts on the track.

Brandon McCray was third in both the hammer (46.40m) and the discus (41.91m),
Joe Patterson was third in the shot put (11.74m) and
Nicolai Rogers was fifth in the discus (31.92m) to cap the top five showings at LHU.

Slippery Rock picked up wins in five events at Pitt-Johnstown and placed in the top five with every athlete that competed.

Parker Reed led the way with wins in the 100-meter dash (11.15 seconds) and the 200-meter dash (22.18 seconds) while also running a leg of the winning 4x400-meter relay, where he combined with
Alex Dickson,
Troy Shattuck and
Gunner Coleman to post a time of 3:29.283.
Jonathan Marfisi was second in the 200m in 22.27 seconds and fifth in the 100m in 11.41 seconds, while Dickson was third in the 400m in 51.54 seconds.

Zach Wise won the 110-meter hurdles in 15.42 seconds with
Brenden Lewis placing fourth in 16.05 seconds.
Damion Reed Jr. took second in the 400-meter hurdles in 57.93 seconds, with
Cade Gratzmiller following in third in 59.17 seconds.

Reese Burwell capped the event wins when he cleared 4.60 meters to win the pole vault.
Â
Shannon Dooley dropped his season-best in the 800-meter run to 1:57.62 to place fourth, one spot ahead of Shattuck in fifth in 1:58.00.
Troy Hart rounded out the top efforts of the mid-distance runners in fourth place in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:08.72.

Taye Lynch took third in the triple jump with a leap of 12.55 meters and
Eric Amodei was fifth in both the high jump (1.60m) and the long jump 4.60m) to cap the top five efforts on the day.

Slippery Rock will now wait for the official PSAC accepted entries list to come out Monday evening to find out which Rock athletes are accepted to compete at the PSAC meet May 6-8 at Shippensburg University.
