SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's track and field team recorded three event wins and 25 top five finishes at the Bill Lennox Invitational that wrapped up Friday at The Rock.

The competition included the Mike Kowal Multi Meet that began Thursday and wrapped up Friday. In total, more than 500 athletes from 17 institutions competed at SRU over the course of two days.

Slippery Rock picked up a win and put three athletes in the top five of the Mike Kowal Multi competition with
Jason Goodman winning the decathlon with 6,146 points,
Ryan McQuown finishing second with 5,900 points and
Kyle Adams placing fifth with 4,355 points.
Â
Alec Morris led the throwers with a win the hammer with a mark of 52.66 meters.
Brandon McCray took fifth with a mark of 47.43 meters.
Dylan Close earned runner-up honors in the javelin with a throw of 54.96 meters.
Ryan Ferner also scored a second place finish with his mark of 44.03 meters in the discus.
Eric Schulz was fourth with a throw of 42.03 meters and Morris was fifth at 40.84 meters to give SRU three in the top five of the discus. Schulz capped the top efforts of the throwers with a third place showing in the shot put with a toss of 13.94 meters.

The lone win on the track came in the 1,500-meter run, where
Shannon Dooley took top honors with a time of 4:11.18.
Troy Hart followed in third in 4:12.91.

Dan Hyatt and
Reese Burwell went two-three in the pole vault with Hyatt placing second with a clearance of 4.66 meters and Burwell finishing third at 4.36 meters.

Zack Duda was second in the triple jump with a leap of 13.65 meters and
Mitch Vleminckx and
Gavin Thomas tied for fourth in the long jump with a leap of 6.67 meters to cap the top performances in the jumps.

The 4x100-meter relay team of
Isaiah Seybert,
Jonathan Marfisi,
Parker Reed and Vleminckx took second in 43.21 seconds and the 4x400-meter relay of
Gunner Coleman, Reed,
Damion Reed Jr. and
Troy Shattuck was third in 3:34.04.

Coleman and Reed Jr. were third and fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with Coleman crossing the line in 57.99 seconds and Reed Jr. following in 59.08.
Parker Reed was fourth in the 200-meter dash in 22.62 seconds and Shattuck was fifth in the 800-meter run in 2:01.76.

Zach Wise made his season debut and led the way in the 110-meter hurdles with a third place finish in 15.04 seconds.

The final top five effort of the day came in the 5,000-meter run, where
Devon Navaroli was fifth in 15:56.94.
Â
Slippery Rock will host its third meet this spring and its second straight meet with the SRU Invitational next Thursday.
