INDIANA, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's track and field team recorded one event win, 10 top five finishes and 19 top 10 finishes at the Ed Fry Invitational Sunday at Indiana University (Pa.)

The Rock's lone event win on the day belonged to
Dan Hyatt, who claimed the top spot in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.45 meters.
Reese Burwell was second at 4.10 meters to give SRU a sweep of the top two places in the event.

Brenden Lewis picked up a third place finish in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.58 seconds, while
Gunner Coleman placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in 58.08 seconds to lead the hurdlers.
Damion Reed Jr. (59.49) and
Cade Gratzmiller (1:01.28) placed sixth and eighth in the 400m hurdles and Lewis placed 10th (1:08.59).

Bryan Dworek led the sprinters with a fifth place finish in the 100-meter dash, lowering his season-best mark to 10.78 seconds. Dworek also anchored the 4x100-meter relay to a second place showing in 42.58 seconds. He was joined on the relay by
Jonathan Marfisi,
Mitch Vleminckx and
Parker Reed. Reed also took ninth in the 200-meter dash in 22.55 seconds to cap the top 10 showings on the track.

Gavin Thomas picked up a fourth place finish in the long jump with a leap of 6.73 meters, while Vleminckx followed in 10th place with a leap of 6.30 meters.

Robert Kozares and
Ryan McQuown both cleared 1.85 meters in the high jump to place fifth and sixth to round out the top performances in the jumps.

Alec Morris scored a fourth place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 51.01 meters and was also ninth in the discus with a mark of 40.90 meters.
Brennan McTighe led the way in the discus with a fourth place finish and a throw of 43.31 meters.
Eric Schulz was sixth in the shot put with a toss of 14.53 meters and
Dylan Close rounded out the top 10 efforts on the day with a seventh place finish in the javelin after a throw of 48.54 meters.

Slippery Rock will return to action Thursday and Friday at home when SRU hosts the Mike Kowal Multi Meet and the Bill Lennox Invite. The multi competition will kick off Thursday with the first five events of the men's decathlon and the first four events of the women's heptathlon. The remainder of the multi events and the full schedule of other events will take place Friday.
