YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Cecily Greggs recorded an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the high jump to lead the Slippery Rock University women's indoor track and field team to a total of 11 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference automatic qualifying marks and 14 top 10 finishes at the YSU Icebreaker hosted by Youngstown State University Friday evening.

Friday's meet at the Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS) marked the official kickoff of the 2021-22 indoor season for Slippery Rock and the first indoor competition for The Rock since February of 2020 after the season was canceled last year.

Greggs was the top Division II finisher and took fourth overall in the high jump with an NCAA provisional clearance of 1.68 meters to headline all performances from The Rock at the opener. Greggs nearly cleared the next bar at 1.71 meters, but came up just short on her final attempt. Chaley Younkin took ninth at 1.55 meters to give SRU two top 10 finishers in the high jump.

Friday's meet featured more than 25 collegiate teams from the region, including Division I programs Pitt, Buffalo, Youngstown State, Duquesne and Robert Morris, among others.

Marianne Abdalah kicked the meet off with a runner-up finish in the 5,000-meter run, which was the first event of the day. She posted a time of 17:37.37, more than a minute under the PSAC standard and just 11 seconds over the NCAA provisional mark.

Morgan Donatelli recorded a pair of All-PSAC marks with a sixth place showing in the 400-meter dash in 57.97 seconds and a 10th place finish in the 200-meter dash in 25.83 seconds. Donatelli was the top Division II finisher in the 400m with each of the top five coming from Division I schools.

Donatelli later teamed with Allison Rennette, Ella Spriggle and Rayna Stevenson to take third overall in the 4x400-meter relay in 4:01.07. The only teams to beat The Rock in the relay both came from Division I Pitt.

SRU got one more top 10 finish on the track with Madison Murtland placing eighth in the mile in 5:29.98.

Kendall Grossman, Jamie Macecevic and Olivia Sentle all cleared PSAC qualifying heights of 3.42 meters to finish in a three-way tie for sixth place in the pole vault.

Jena Reinheimer led the throwers with a pair of PSAC marks, first taking sixth in the weight throw with a mark of 16.09 meters that was the best among all DII throwers and also finishing 10th in the shot put with a toss of 12.20 meters. She was joined in the shot put by Sarah Corrie, who placed ninth with a mark of 12.32 meters, and in the weight throw by Natasha Davis, who was 16th with a PSAC mark of 14.14 meters.

SRU's final top 10 showing on the day came in the triple jump, where Aleks Brozeski took eighth with a leap of 10.93 meters.

Friday's meet was the first of two this weekend for SRU, which will send four multi-event athletes to Edinboro Saturday for the Mike Kowal Multi Meet. The Rock will then break for finals and the holidays and return to action Jan. 15 at Edinboro.
