New/Sortable Box Score ERIE, Pa. - The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team battled Gannon University to a 0-0 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division tie on the road Saturday.
Slippery Rock ends the regular season with a 12-3-3 overall record and an 11-3-2 mark in the PSAC West while Gannon moves to 11-3-2 both overall and in league games.
Saturday's tie combined with Mercyhurst's 3-0 victory over Cal U sends SRU into the PSAC Tournament as third seed out of the Western Division while Gannon will go into the postseason as the second seed. As such, The Rock and Golden Knights will faceoff for a third time this season 4:30 p.m. Nov. 9 in an opening round PSAC Tournament match in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Emma Yoder was instrumental to The Rock securing a tie as she made nine saves through 110 minutes of action.

Kayla Swope all with a shot each.
The Rock's defense began the game heavily pressured as they successfully defended nine shots before Edge was able to produce the first shot of the game for SRU in the 24th minute. Slippery Rock would take just one other shot, from the foot of Reeves, that missed wide, to close out the first period.
Coming out the break, The Rock and Golden Knights entered another defensive battle with Gannon getting the first shot of the period at 56:13 that would be blocked quickly followed by Swope testing Gannon goalkeeper Kennedy Solymosi who would successfully save the attempt.
Both teams traded shots but to no avail as the score reminded knotted up 0-0 at the end of regulation.
Gannon controlled the first overtime period posting two shots on goal that were successfully saved by Yoder to force the match into a second overtime.
The best look at a game-winning goal in the final 10 minutes came at 102:20 when Gannon fired a trio of shots, the first two by Sarah Fails, that were saved by Yoder with an SRU defender blocking the final shot by Megan McCartney to close out the tie.
For the game Gannon held advantages in total shots (25-11), shots on goal (9-4) and corner kicks (8-6).
Slippery Rock will enter the post season playing a first round PSAC Tournament match at a place that is yet to be determined at a time yet to be determined as well.
SRU and Gannon head into Tuesday's PSAC Tournament contest having split the season series with each team winning on their respective home fields.
