SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team scored six goals for the second consecutive game in a 6-0 victory over Edinboro in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division action Wednesday at James Egli Field.

The last time Slippery Rock scored six goals in back-to-back games was in 2024 when SRU beat Clarion and Edinboro, 6-0, in consecutive games. 

Slippery Rock improved to 2-1-0 overall with a 2-0-0 mark in the PSAC West with the win, while Edinboro's overall record fell to 1-2-0, well as 1-1-0 in the division with the loss.

With the result, SRU is now 9-0-2 in its last 11 games at James Egli Field with a +25 goal differential (31-6).

For the second straight game, Slippery Rock benefited from six different goal scorers, with eight players grabbing at least one point.

Slippery Rock saw three players score their first career goals as Leah Walter, Irene Doleno and Jilly Deivert found the back of the net for the first time, while Aubrey Grater picked up her first career assist.

Peyton Los, Bailey McGee and Lilia Battalini each netted one goal to go along with Walter, Doleno and Deivert, while Los, Deivert, McGee and Eden Williams each earned one assist.

Slippery Rock's youth continues to shine as 9 of The Rock's 17 points came via freshmen and sophomores.

Leah Allman started in goal and earned the win for Slippery Rock. The senior was not forced to make a save before being substituted for in the 78^th while The Rock held a 5-0 advantage. Rosie Willmott Joyce came in for Allman and finished the final 12 minutes of the game.

Los kicked off the scoring in the 16^th minute after taking a shot from outside the box and forced a save from Edinboro goalkeeper Brianna Garey, who knocked the ball towards the front of the net. Los won the foot race to the loose ball and slotted the follow-up shot home, giving SRU a 1-0 lead.

Slippery Rock doubled its lead just two minutes later when Los sent a pass through the middle of the defense to McGee, who took a shot from the top of the box on the left side that beat the goalkeeper on the bottom right corner, making The Rock's lead, 2-0.

After halftime, Slippery Rock struck again in the 55^th minute and extended its lead to 3-0 when Battalini received a pass from Williams and struck a shot into the top right corner

In the final 22 minutes, SRU scored three more times with goals from Deivert, Doleno and Walter, as McGee, Grater and Deivert picked up assists.

SRU outshot Edinboro 17-4 overall and 12-0 in shots on goal. The Rock took nine corners compared to the Bald Eagles' two.

Slippery Rock completes its three-game homestand with its final non-conference game of the season with a matchup against Frostburg State University 1 p.m. Saturday at James Egli Field.
