LAST MEETING
Slippery Rock suffered its first loss of the year to Mercyhurst in a 1-0 match on Sept. 18, 2021 marking the only time this season SRU was shutout.

SCOUTING THE ROCK
LAST TIME OUT: The Rock returned to its winning-ways in a 3-1 homecoming victory over Seton Hill University, featuring a two-goal performance from Rachel Edge while Kayla Swope tacked on the insurance goal to seal the win, on Oct. 16 at James Egli Field.
 
A LOOK AT THE STANDINGS: With five regular season matches left, Slippery Rock holds a two-point lead over Gannon University for first place in the PSAC West standings and a six-point advantage over third-place Mercyhurst.
 
The top four teams in the PSAC West and PSAC East standings at the conclusion of the regular season qualify for the conference tournament. Slippery Rock won the PSAC West regular season title in 2019 on the way to a conference tournament championship as well.
 
SUCCESS IN ERIE: SRU has found success when visiting Mercyhurst. In the last five matches hosted by the Lakers, Slippery Rock has come away with three wins and two ties, two of those wins were 4-0 shutouts.
 
CONSISTENT SWOPE: Junior forward, Swope's goal against the Lakers was her second consecutive game to score at least one goal. This marks the second time this season she has scored in consecutive games as well as the fourth time in her career to do so.
 
ON THE SCOREBOARD: The Rock has made their mark as one of the highest scoring teams in the PSAC this year, currently placing first in scoring average (2.692) as well as outscoring its opponents 35-12 in goals and 98-29 in total points through 13 matches.
 
Aiding in Slippery Rocks scoring efforts this season are 10 different players who have scored at least one goal in Edge (9), Swope (6), Jordyn Minda (5), Georgia Nagucki (5), Sydney Patrick (3), Megan Sikora (2), Ashley Rea (2), Faith Diffenbacher (1), Julia Mascaro (1) and Olivia Yoder (1).
 
ROCK SOLID DEFENSE: SRU's defense, which allows just 0.92 goals per game, is grounded by senior goalkeeper Emma Yoder. On the year Yoder has made 36 saves to go along with a .750 save percentage and a .089 goals against average. She currently ranks second in the PSAC West in GAA and second overall in the PSAC in shutouts (5).
 
In the SRU career record book, Yoder sits fourth in shutouts (16) and games started (39) while landing seventh in saves (148). The win against Seton Hill moved Yoder into a tie with Kylie Downs (2015-18) for third place in wins (29).
 
NATIONAL RANKINGS: As a team, SRU ranks 13th in Division II in points and goals while landing 14th in assists (27). Individually, Edge remains ranked within the top 20 of assists and total points, holding the 18th spot in both categories.
 
PSAC LEADERS: In the conference, Edge returns to first in goals and points as well as claiming second in assists while Swope is tied for third in assists. As a team The Rock top the offensive standings in the overall conference in scoring average, margin of victory (1.77) and shots (249).
 
SRU CAREER BOOKS: Yoder is accompanied by a trio of other Rock players that continue to improve their positions in The Rock's record book as Edge currently ranks sixth in assists (21), seventh in points (71) and 9th in goals (25). Edge is also two game-winning goals away from clinching the single season record. Following is Minda, who is 15th in goals (20) and 19th in points (49). Rounding out the active all-time leaders is Swope who claims the 18th spot in assists (14).
 
AGAINST MERCYHURST: In previous matchups with the Lakers, Edge has scored a pair of goals and dished out a pair of assists, while Mascaro tallied two assists and Minda collected an assist.

In Mercyhurst's win over The Rock earlier in the season, Mijares scored the game-winning goal while Elbro made nine saves to record the shutout.
