SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - The Slippery Rock University men's soccer team looks to move into second place in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division standings with a homecoming victory over Seton Hill University 12 p.m. Saturday at James Egli Field.

SCOUTING THE ROCK
LAST TIME OUT: Slippery Rock produced its third highest single-game goal output dating back to the 2016 season, a span of 82 games, in a 6-2 win at Pitt-Johnstown Wednesday.
 
PSAC STANDINGS CHECK: Slippery Rock currently ranks third in the PSAC West standings through 11 matches. A win against Seton Hill would move SRU even in the conference standings with the Griffins at nine points each, three behind division leader Gannon.
 
The top three teams in the PSAC East and PSAC West standings at the end of the regular season qualify for the conference tournament.
 
MAKE WAY FOR MINAYA: Following a five-point game, on two goals and one assist, against Pitt-Johnstown, Ramses Minaya holds the season team-lead in points (10) while sharing the team-lead in goals (4) with Kanani.
 
ON THE ATTACK: The Slippery Rock offense this season has been a balanced attack. Minaya leads the team in points followed by Alejandro Fernandez with nine via three goals and three assists. The duo of Kanani and Arturo Pla Hernandis have each collected eight points with Kanani posting four goals and Pla Hernandis tallying three goals and two assists. The scoring efforts are rounded out by Luke Gildea, Joey Moeller and Dan Schearer all with one goal each.
 
Rock players who have assisted on at least one goal include PSAC West leader Anthony Gagliardi II with six followed by Fernandez and Brian McCarthy with three each and rounded out by Pla Hernandis and Minaya with two apiece and Joe Skillicorn with one.
 
KEEPER COUNT: Goalkeepers Hossam Aly (4-3-2) and Derek Hoffman (1-1) have split time as of late. Through 10 starts, Aly has collected 37 saves with a .771 save percentage and 1.14 GAA. Aly currently ranks second in the PSAC West in saves while landing third in save percentage and goals against average.
 
Hoffman earned his first start, and win, of the season against the Mountain Cats. Over 90 minutes he made two saves while allowing two goals. In three appearances this season (158:35), Hoffman has tallied six saves with a .600 save percentage and 2.27 GAA.
 
AGAINST SETON HILL: Four Rock players have made their mark in previous seasons facing the Griffins. Kanani and Fernandez have both posted a goal while McCarthy has tallied an assist. Hoffman has started one game in his career against Seton Hill, a 2-1 loss in 2019 in which he made five saves.

Last time out: Seton Hill lost to nationally ranked Gannon University, 2-1, in double overtime Wednesday.
 
A trio of players lead the Seton Hill offense in Fletcher Amos, Anthony Panko and Elias Vangen who all have scored three goals and produced an assist this season.
 
Goalkeeper Bobby White has made 31 saves with a .816 save percentage and a 0.78 GAA.
