SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Â The Slippery Rock University field hockey team continues Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference competition this weekend when it hosts fourth-ranked Millersville University 11 a.m. Saturday at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.

• Fans should not attend any events if you are experiencing any symptoms or feeling ill.
• Masks are REQUIRED inside all buildings on the SRU campus, regardless of vaccination status.

DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION DAY
The Rock field hockey team has been fortunate enough to have Dr. Cindy LaCom, Director of Gender Studies at Slippery Rock University, speak to the team about the importance of diversity and inclusion on several occasions and as such helped inspire Diversity and Inclusion Day on Saturday.

This day will showcase the strengths of the Slippery Rock campus, with a particular focus placed on how diversity and inclusion enrich The Rock community. SRU field hockey is excited to promote the diverse, unique stories and accomplishments of the campus community prior to the game.

Slippery Rock dropped a narrow one-goal decision on the road Wednesday night at Indiana University (Pa.), 2-1.

SCOUTING THE ROCK
• At the halfway point of the season, Slippery Rock is on pace to finish the season with 34 goals, which would be tied with the 2017 and 2015 Rock teams for the second most goals scored in the modern era of the program. The record is 38 goals in 2013.

• SRU is also on pace to allow its fewest goals since the 2014 team allowed just 27 goals (1.42 per game).

• Following a goal in The Rock's loss at IUP, Trube enters the weekend ranked sixth in the PSAC in goals scored with six in addition to ranking ninth in total points at 12.

• Trube's latest goal moved her into a tie with Jane Machuga (1975-78) and Dina Pezzimenti (1989-92) for ninth place on The Rock's career points list at 40 (19 goals / two assists). She is now three points away from moving into a tie with Kailee Krupski (2014-17) for eighth on The Rock's career point ledger.

Leslie Colliver had a quality all-around game against IUP with an assist and a defensive save. In addition to having recorded SRU's only defensive save of the season, the freshman is now tied for second on the team in points at six on two goals and two assists in 2021.

Jordyn Isner also has six points this season off of one goal and a team-high four assists, which ranks fourth across the PSAC as a whole.

Katelyn Sparks and
Lauren Marks are The Rock's other three multi-goal scorers so far this season with two apiece. Roland also has one assist.

• Rounding out Slippery Rock's scoring attack so far this season with a goal and an assist each are

Samantha Karmonick both have an assist in 2021 as well.

• Trube (18) and Isner (11) have supplied 43.9 percent (29-of-66) of The Rock's shots on goal this year.

Grace Burker has started all eight games for SRU this season, recording 39 saves, a .696 save percentage and a 2.34 goals against average. She ranks fourth in the PSAC in both total saves and saves per game (4.88).

WINS vs. NATIONALLY RANKED TEAMS
Since the 2010 season, Slippery Rock has won nine games against nationally ranked teams. The Rock's previous wins against nationally ranked teams include victories against Kutztown (2017 / No. 5), West Chester (2017 / No. 3), East Stroudsburg (2014 / No. 5), Bloomsburg (2013 / No. 7), Indiana (2011 / No. 6, 2010 / No. 7, 2010 / No. 8) and LIU Post (2010 / No. 5).

YOUTH MOVEMENT
Eight Slippery Rock underclassmen (freshmen or sophomores) have started at least one game for The Rock this season. Of the 11 teams in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, only Mansfield (12) has had more underclassmen start a game in 2021.

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS
• Millersville is coming off of its first loss of the season, a 1-0 setback at West Chester, after winning its first eight games of the season. The Marauders lead the country in scoring at 5.12 goals per game while having only surrendered a PSAC-low five goals in nine games.

• Bri Harsh leads Millersville with 21 points on nine goals and three assists while Kate Strickland has scored six goals.
