MANSFIELD, Pa. - The Slippery Rock University field hockey team concluded its 2025 season with a 3-1 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference loss Saturday at Mansfield University.

Saturday's result ends The Rock's season with a 5-12 overall record and a 1-8 mark inside the PSAC. The five victories are the most by a Rock team over the last three seasons. The host Mounties end their year at 7-11 overall and 2-7 in the PSAC.

Slippery Rock was led in its season finale by Hilary Hoffman, who scored her second goal of the year. The trio of Hoffman, Lucy Hutchinson and Roz Mikulak accounted for six of The Rock's seven shots in the game at two apiece. Madison Shomo registered an attempt as well.

Goalkeeper Leah Riegling made four saves over 60 minutes as well.

Mansfield scored the game's opening goal 78 seconds into regulation. The goal was the lone strike of the first half. The Mounties then stretched their advantage to two goals with a 40th-minute goal before Hoffman cut into SRU's deficit with her goal at the end of the third quarter.

However, a comeback was not to be as Mansfield added an insurance tally in the 56th minute on the way to a 3-1 win.

For the game, Mansfield held advantages over The Rock in total shots (13-7), shots on goal (7-5) and penalty corners (8-4).

Saturday's game was the final collegiate contests in the careers of Rock seniors Megan Rude, Christina Clymer, Sammy Graci, Julia Boettler and Shomo.
