2025 NFHCA Senior Team
Â
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Slippery Rock University standout
Megan Rude was named to the 2025 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Senior Team, the organization announced Thursday.
Senior Team honorees were determined based on competitive excellence, leadership and lasting influence within their programs. Selections are based on nominations submitted by NFHCA member coaches and reviewed by committees composed entirely of NFHCA coach members.Â
Rude, a back from Tonawanda, New York, was one of only 36 student-athletes from across Division II to be named to the 2025 NFHCA Senior Team.
Â
"I'm proud of Megan and all that she has done for The Rock," said SRU head coach
Missy Revesz. "I've known of her ability and am glad she's getting the recognition she's earned by being recognized by the NFHCA."
Rude has been the backbone of The Rock's defense over the last four years. She did not miss a game over the entirety of her collegiate career, as she rarely left the field while appearing in 67 games with 66 starts since joining the program in 2022 from Sweet Home High School.
Â
"Megan's ability to naturally read the play gave her the advantage to come up with the ball successfully and help generate our transitional play," said Revesz. "Her adaptability on the field will be greatly missed as she transitioned from left back to center back this year. This helped showcase Megan's knowledge and gave her the freedom to perform at her peak."
Â
Rude will leave SRU as having played in the eighth most consecutive games in program history, and the most since Hannah Downing played in 73 straight games from 2015-18.
Â
Not just a standout on the field, Rude has also been named to the NFHCA All-Academic Squad on two occasions while being a five-time Dean's List honoree as a Health and Physical Education major with a 3.65 GPA.
Â
Rude is the first Slippery Rock student-athlete to be named to the NFHCA Senior Team since Addy Ross in 2022. A full list of Slippery Rock's past NFHCA Senior Team selections can be found

Slippery Rock concluded its 2025 season with a 5-12 overall record. The five victories were the most by a Rock team over the last three seasons.
