SCOUTING THE ROCK

LAST TIME OUT - Slippery Rock defeated Seton Hill University 4-1 at James Egli Field.
Kayla Swope started the scoring for SRU at the 38:22 mark with her first goal of the season. Seton Hill responded with a goal of its own in the 42nd minute when Katie Kimmich netted her third goal of 2019 to tie the score at 1-1.

Jordyn Minda goal on a cross from
Rachel Edge in the 49th minute to give SRU a 2-1 lead. Slippery Rock extended its lead to 4-1 on goals by Harrison and Edge at the 57:56 and 65:01 mark respectively.

GAINING THE EDGE - Edge recorded her team-leading fourth goal of the season against Seton Hill. The goal marked her fourth straight game with a score, Edge is the first Rock women's soccer player to score a goal in four consecutive games since Dara Dremich did so during the 2016 season.

SCORING MACHINE - Slippery Rock's 4-1 victory over Seton Hill marks the third straight game that SRU has scored three or more goals. It also marks the first time The Rock has scored three or more goals in three consecutive games since 2015.

FOUR STRAIGHT - The win marks the first four-game winning streak for SRU since last year's consecutive wins over Mansfield, Clarion, Walsh and Edinboro. Slippery Rock will look to extend its winning streak to five in a row with its last five game winning streak coming last season in wins over No. 14 Millersville, California (Pa.), Mercyhurst, West Chester and Shippensburg.Â

PSAC LEADERS – Edge has worked her way up the PSAC offensive leader board. The sophomore is second in points (12) and is tied for second in goals (4) along with being tied for first in assists (4).
Shannon McIntyre is tied for second in assists with three while Harrison and Minda are tied for third in goals with three apiece. The pair is tied for first in game-winning goals with two each.

ROUNDING OUT THE ATTACK – Slippery Rock has gotten contributions from top to bottom on its roster. McIntyre, Swope, and
Tyler Spence are tied for third on the team with one goal apiece while
Kaitlyn Barackman and Swope are tied for second with two assists each.

MAGIC MINDA – The sophomore has gotten off to a hot start offensively this season, scoring three goals in the first five games for The Rock. Minda recorded at least two shots on goal in four of five games this season including three against Walsh University and West Virginia Wesleyan College.

CONSISTENCY IS KEY – Slippery Rock has gotten outstanding play in goal from its sophomore keeper. In her collegiate career, Yoder has allowed one or fewer goals in eight of her nine career starts, allowing two goals only once. Yoder has a career 0.33 goals average against and a .850 career save percentage. Her 43 saves are the most by a Rock goalkeeper through nine starts since Dana O'Neill in 2009.

SCORING AGAINST MU - Harrison, Johnson and Spence have all scored goals preivously against the Lakers. Spence scored the game-winner in a 2016 home matchup with the Lakers while Johnson netted the game-tying goal in a 2017 road matchup with Mercyhurst. Harrison scored against MU in a 2-0 home victory for The Rock last season.Â

Sept. 22, 1996 – Slippery Rock scores the most goals in program history in a 12-0 home victory over Pitt-Johnstown. The Rock own a 7-0-0 record all-time against the Mountain Cats, outscoring UPJ 29-1 over the seven matchups.

Sept. 24, 2003 – Sarah Arsenault and Lauren Steele both net hat tricks in a 11-2 Rock victory over St. Vincent. It stands as the only multi-hat trick game in Rock women's soccer program history.

SCOUTING THE LAKERS

Last time out: The Lakers recorded a 3-0 shutout victory over Gannon at home. Alyssa Otto and Maia Russo provided the offense for Mercyhurst with Otto scoring two goals at the 29:06 and 46:31 mark followed by a Russo goal in the 65th minute.

 MU goalkeeper Vilde Wold recorded her third consecutive shutout on six saves in 90 clean minutes for the Lakers.

• Mercyhurst returns nine seniors for the 2019 season including Maria Vidal, Maya Bauer, Maya Fanazini, Emilie Bock, Laia Santos, GG Abdalah, Paz Aguirre, Wold and Russo. Santos ranks tied for third for the Lakers in goals (2) and is tied for second in points (4).
