LAST MEETING
Slippery Rock defeated Seton Hill at home earlier this season, 4-1. SRU opened the scoring when
Kayla Swope netted her first collegiate goal in the 39th minute, giving Slippery Rock the early 1-0 advantage.

Seton Hill responded in the 42nd minute when Katie Kimmich scored on a pass from Italia Biondi to even the score at one apiece. The Rock took back the lead when
Jordyn Minda played a pass from
Rachel Edge into the goal for her third score of 2019, giving SRU a 2-1 advantage.

The Rock extended its lead on a
Sofia Harrison goal at the 57:56 mark with Edge providing her second assist of the game, extending the Slippery Rock lead to 3-1.

Edge put a cap on a 4-1 victory for SRU when she scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season in the 66th minute with Swope adding an assist to her ledger. The Rock defense turned in a solid performance against the Griffins, holding Seton Hill to two shots on goal in the contest.

SCOUTING THE ROCK

LAST TIME OUT – Slippery Rock recorded a 5-1 home victory over the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. The superb SRU offensive attack got off to a fast start when
Shannon McIntyre netted an unassisted score in the 21st minute for her third goal of 2019.

UPJ responded quickly when Abby LaDuke scored her team-leading 10th goal of the season on a feed from Danielle Lippl to tie the game at one apiece in the 25th minute.

The Rock offense responded to the Mountain Cat score by netting four unanswered goals, the first coming from
Ashley Rea in the 40th minute for her first collegiate score on a pass from Minda to give The Rock a one-goal lead going into halftime.Â

Minda joined the scoring effort four minutes into the second half when she played a pass from
Brooke Riefenstahl through the Pitt-Johnstown defense for her second goal in two games and sixth on the season.

Edge followed Minda with a score of her own in the 61st minute, recording her team-leading 10th goal of the season with
Tyler Spence providing the assist.

Slippery Rock put a cap on the 5-1 home victory when Harrison sent a pass into the box that was finished by Swope for her fifth goal of the season.

WIN, WIN, WIN - With the win over Pitt-Johnstown, Slippery Rock secured its 24th consecutive winning season, tied for the third-longest active streak in NCAA Division ll and tied for the fifth-longest streak in Division ll.Â

STANDINGS CHECK – Slippery Rock (27 points) maintained its one-point lead over Edinboro (26 points) with the 5-1 win over Pitt-Johnstown. Mercyhurst is in third place with 16 points followed by Seton Hill and IUP who are tied for fourth place with 15 points each.

Gannon is in sixth place with 13 points followed by California with six points. Clarion rounds out the division standings with three points on the year.
At the end of the season, the top-four teams based on point total in both the PSAC West and PSAC East qualify for the conference tournament.

GAIN THE EDGE – With her team-leading 10th goal of the season, Edge became the first Rock women's soccer player since Dara Dremich in 2015 to score 10 or more goals in a season. Edge leads SRU in goals, assists (6), points (26), total shots (46) and shots on goal (25).

SWOPE STAYS HOT – Swope's goal against Pitt-Johnstown marked her second score in three games. She is tied for the team lead in assists with six, second in points with 16 and third in goals with five this season. The freshman forward ranks second for SRU in total shots with 36 and third in shots on goal at 17.

MINDA MAKES IT HAPPEN – Minda added to her goal ledger against Pitt-Johnstown, scoring her third goal in the past two games. On the season, Minda is second on the team in goals with six, third in points (15) and fourth in assists (3).

PSAC LEADERS – Edge and Swope are tied for the PSAC lead in assists while Edge ranks second in points and tied for second in goals while her 46 total shots and 25 shots on goal are fifth best in the conference. Swope's 16 points are tied for fifth best in the PSAC.

Minda is tied for fourth in the conference with six goals while her three game-winning goals are tied for second best in the PSAC. McIntyre is tied for third in the conference with three assists.

As a team, Slippery Rock leads the PSAC in goals (35), assists (33) and scoring average at 2.92 goals per game along with shots on goal with 126. Slippery Rock's +2.25 scoring margin is second best in the conference while its 233 total shots are third most in the PSAC.

Oct. 20, 2007 – Slippery Rock upsets No. 5 West Chester University at home, 3-1. Danielle Cooper opened the scoring for SRU in the 7th minute on a pass from Jamie Wilson.

The Rock scoring effort continued when Alison Hindley netted back-to-back scores in the 16th and 56th minute to stretch the Slippery Rock advantage to 3-0. A late goal by WCU foiled the shutout effort by SRU goalkeeper Lauren McManus who finished with five saves.

SCOUTING THE GRIFFINS

Last time out: Seton Hill recorded a 2-1 road victory over Gannon. The Griffins opened the scoring when Amanda Banfield netted an unassisted goal in the sixth minute to give SHU an early 1-0 lead.

Seton Hill extended its lead when Shamika Lagevine fired a shot from the top right corner of the box to extend the Griffin advantage to 2-0 in the 67th minute. Gannon added a goal in the 72nd minute, but it proved to not be enough as SHU came away with the 2-1 victory.

• The Griffins are led on offense by Kimmich who has a team-leading six goals and 15 points while ranking second in assists with three. Biondi sits in second with five goals and 14 points along with recording a team-leading four assists.
