The Slippery Rock field hockey team will continue its homestand at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium 7 p.m. Wednesday against Indiana University (Pa.).

•  LAST TIME OUT: Slippery Rock lost its first game of the season in a 1-0 defeat to Washington and Jefferson. 

• A win against IUP would tie this year's team with the 1997 and 1978 teams for the second best start to a season in school history. Only the 1976 (5-0) Rock squad had a better record through the first five games of a season.  
 
•  60 percent (15 of 25) of The Rock's wins the last four years have come in non-conference games.
 
•  Slippery Rock has been shutout in back-to-back games just two times over the last three years.
 
•  Sophomore Abby McKay is the only current Rock player to have scored a goal against IUP.
 
•  Slippery Rock's three goals allowed so far this season is tied for the program record through the first four games of a season. The 1997, 1987, 1978 and 1976 Rock teams all held opponents to three goals through their first four games as well.
 
• SRU begins the week ranked fourth in Division II in goals per game at 3.75 and eighth in save percentage at .813. 
 
• Sophomore Maddie Murphy holds the fourth highest goals against average of 0.920 in NCAA Division II in addition to a 0.750 save percentage as well.
 
• Five different players have already scored at least two goals this season for The Rock with Sophomore Kayla Ulrich and freshman Jessie Trube leading the way at three apiece followed by the trio freshman Lauren Marks, sophomore Courtney Page and senior Hannah Downing at two each.

• Marks and Brenna McGovern-Lind are also tied with Ulrich for the team lead in assists with two apiece.
