SCOUTING THE ROCK

LAST TIME OUT - Slippery Rock shut out Clarion 1-0 in a PSAC home matchup Wednesday. It was SRU's third straight shutout victory. Kaitlyin Barackman recorded the lone goal in the game.

BATTLE OF THE BEST – The Rock will tangle with PSAC standings leader Kutztown. The Golden Bears sit atop the league standings with 12 points, while SRU is tied for second with 10 points.

"THAT'S CALLED A WINNING STREAK!" – SRU's win over Clarion was its third consecutive victory. It's the longest Rock win streak since Sept. 20-Oct. 5, 2016 when Slippery Rock on five games in a row.

UPS AND DOWNS – Goalkeeper
Kylie Downs was rarely tested last Wednesday as she only faced two shots and made one save recording her third straight shutout victory. Downs is ranked second in the PSAC in goals against average at .474.

THAT'S NOT ALLOWED – The Rock defense has been stellar early on this season. Slippery Rock has only allowed four goals through its first five games, which ranks fifth best in the PSAC.

BACK TO THE OLD GRIND – After playing its first three home games of 2017, Slippery Rock will head back to its grass roots at James Egli Field. The Rock is 102-51-5 all-time at Egli.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN BEARS
• The Golden Bears are led by the duo of Emily Zwiercan and Maddie Mohr who have recorded six goals apiece and have 15 and 12 total points, respectively.
• Other offensive contributors include Randi Smith (three goals, three assists), Chelsea Fadio (one goal, two assists) and Kate Martin (one goal, one assist).
• The trio of goalkeepers that include Jenna Bracken, Imani Taylor and McKenna Zerbe have allowed a combined two goals and have made 16 saves on 38 shots faced.
• KU's previous PSAC opponents have been Lock Haven, Gannon, Millersville and California (Pa.).
