Rock to host Millersville in early PSAC test

Winners of three out of its last four games, Slippery Rock will host Millersville 1 p.m. Saturday at James Egli in a contest featuring two teams with perfect PSAC records.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Winners of three out of its last four games, the Slippery Rock University men's soccer team will host Millersville University 1 p.m. Saturday at James Egli in a contest featuring two teams with perfect Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference records.

SCOUTING THE ROCK
• Last time out: After giving up an early score, Slippery Rock scored three unanswered goals en route to a 3-1 victory vs. California (Pa.) Sept. 15. Sangermano and senior defender Ryan Lutke both scored goals for SRU in the win.
 
• A win today would give SRU its first 5-0 home record to start a season since 1975. The SRU record for consecutive home wins to start a year is eight; also set by the 1975 squad.
 
• Lutke leads The Rock with four goals, all of which have come off of penalty kicks. The four successful penalty kicks are already the most in a single-season in documented Rock soccer history. Overall, his goal total ranks second in the PSAC.
 
• Sangermano and senior forward Mike Ilodigwe are SRU's other multi-goal scorers with two apiece.
 
• Junior midfielder Jacob Thiel and senior goalkeeper Kyle Hoffer have accounted The Rock's other two goals on the season.
 
• Five different SRU players have assists.

• Millersville's two goals allowed are a PSAC low and the ninth best total in all of NCAA Division II.
 
• Jaime Vazquez has tallied nine points, the second most in the PSAC, off of four goals and one assist.
 
• Five other Marauders have scored one goal apiece including Kyle Finsterbush, who has one goal and one assist for three points on the season.
