Shippensburg StatsSLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.- The Slippery Rock University field hockey team is set for a game at No. 2 Shippensburg Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Robb Sports Complex.

Records: Slippery Rock comes into the contest at 2-2 overall after dropping a match to West Chester on Saturday, 0-3. SRU has earned wins over American International College (4-1) and Mansfield (4-0).
Shippensburg enters the match at 3-1 overall and is coming off a 6-1 win over Seton Hill on Saturday. The Raiders have earned wins over Saint Michael's (6-1) and Southern Connecticut (2-0). Shippensburg, ranked second in this week's nationall poll, has only suffered one loss this year and that came at the hands of No. 1 West Chester, 3-2, in double overtime last Wednesday.
Scouting The Rock: Slippery Rock has a slight edge over opponents in shots, 49-44, while also owning a 30-29 edge in penalty corners.
Junior
Megan McKay currently leads The Rock in scoring with four goals and two assists. Sophomore
Kailee Krupski has three goals, while sophomore
Alyssa Castle has scored twice this fall.
Senior goalie
Carlee DuMars has recorded 24 saves in the cage, while allowing seven goals. She owns a 2.25 goals against average and a 0.774 save percentage.
Scouting the Raiders: This season, Shippensburg has outshot its opponents, 95-49, while also holding an advantage in penalty corners, 50-31.
Sophomore Emily Barnard leads the Raiders with four goals and two assists on the year. Junior Cassie Rawa has recorded two goals and two assists, while senior Molly Stuart and sophomore Madison Scarr have two goals and one assist apiece to round out the multi-goal scorers.
Senior goalie Taylor Webster has made 25 saves and allowed only five goals this season. She posts a 1.14 goals against average and a 0.833 save percentage.
Coaches: Head coach
Julie Swiney is in her sixth season at the helm of the Slippery Rock field hockey program. She has guided The Rock to the PSAC playoffs in three of her last four seasons. Prior to 2011, SRU has not reached the postseason since 1987. Last fall, Swiney led the team to nine wins, the fourth highest win total in program history, while once again earning a spot in the PSAC Tournament. In 2012, Swiney was named the PSAC-West Coach of the Year.
Shippensburg is led by head coach Bertie Landes, who has more wins than any other active coach at the NCAA Division II level and also the best winning percentage. Landes posts a career record of 456-126-17, ranking her third all-time among NCAA Division II coaches and 11th among all divisions for career victories. She led the Raiders to a national championship in 2013 with a 2-1 overtime victory over LIU Post, which led to her being named the 2013 4U Field Hockey/NFHCA Division II National Coach of the Year.
