PSAC TOURNAMENT HISTORY
Slippery Rock has won seven PSAC championships (1952, 1953, 1954, 1974, 2005, 2009 and 2013) with its last title coming in 2013. SRU has earned 12 PSAC Tournament bids and is 11-9 in tournament games all-time.

SERIES HISTORY
Millersville has won three straight games against The Rock and leads the series 17-10-2, but SRU has had recent success against the Marauders in the PSAC Tournament.

Slippery Rock advanced past Millersville in the semifinals of the 2013 PSAC Tournament 0-0 (4-3 PKs) thanks to a successful PK by Ryan Lutke. The Rock also beat the Marauders in the PSAC title game in 2009 when SRU upset Millersville, which was ranked No. 1 in the nation at the time, 2-1.

LAST MEETING
Senior forward Peter Boylan gave Slippery Rock an early one-goal lead, but it wasn't enough as Millersville rallied with two unanswered goals to defeat The Rock 2-1 Sept. 19, 2015 at James Egli Field.

SCOUTING THE ROCK
• Last time out: Freshman midfielder George Oakley scored on a free kick from 30 yards out and junior goalkeeper Steven Rerick stopped eight shots to lead Slippery Rock to a 1-0 victory at Mercyhurst Nov. 6 in the PSAC Tournament semifinals.

• Slippery Rock enters the PSAC Championship game as the hottest team in the conference after winning four straight games, all of which have been shutouts. The four consecutive shutouts are tied for the most in school history. The 2009, 1975 and 1947 squads also had four consecutive shutout victories.

• Sunday's game will be The Rock's 10th PSAC Championship game appearance. SRU is 4-5 all-time in league title games. Slippery Rock defeated Mercyhurst 3-2 in double overtime in 2013 for its last conference crown.

• 10 current players (Lutke, Rerick, P. Boylan, Kyle Boyer, Ryan Boylan, Kyle Hoffer, Gabriel Hrecznyj, Nick Kutcher, Stephen McConahy and Mike Pcholinsky) still remain on the roster from the 2013 championship squad.

• The Mercyhurst Soccer Field has become a home away from home for SRU in the PSAC Tournament. Since 2009, SRU is 3-1-2 in tournament games played at Mercyhurst. SRU also won both shootouts in the games that ended in a tie.

• Slippery Rock is making its third appearance in the PSAC finals in the last four years. Since 2005 only The Rock (2012, 2013, 2015), Mercyhurst (2012, 2013, 2014) and Millersville (2008, 2009, 2011) have accomplished the feat.

• Four different Rock players have points in their careers against Millersville; P. Boylan has scored two goals, McConahy has one assist, junior midfielder Josh Allman has one assist and junior forward Matt Sangermano has one goal.

• SRU's 13 wins in 2015 are tied for seventh place in The Rock's record books for wins in a season. A victory over Millersville would move this year's team into a four-way tie for fourth place in single-season history; the 2008, 1982 and 1975 teams also won 14 games in a season.

• Slippery Rock's 38 goals are the most by a PSAC team this season. SRU last led the league in goals scored in 2009 with 50.

• Leading The Rock's PSAC-best offense is Sangermano, who has a team-high nine goals. Slippery Rock's other top goal scorers include Lutke (seven), P. Boylan (four), senior forward Mike Ilodigwe (four) and Pcholinsky (three).

• P. Boylan also leads The Rock, and ranks second in the PSAC, with seven assists. McConahy ranks second for SRU in assists with a career-high three.

• Not to be out done, The Rock's stellar defense ranks second in the league in goals allowed at 19. Slippery Rock's seven goals allowed in the first half of games this season is tied with the 2012 squad for the lowest by a Rock team since the 2010 team surrendered just four goals in the opening 45 minutes of games for the year. SRU last allowed a first half goal against West Chester six games ago (465:05).

• After his outstanding performance against Mercyhurst, Rerick is now 7-2 on the year with four shutouts, a 0.88 goals against average (GAA) and an .869 save percentage. He is 16-9 with seven shutouts in his collegiate career.

• Slippery Rock enters the championship ranked sixth in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region rankings. The top four teams at the end of year advance to the NCAA Tournament. A win over Millersville would give The Rock victories over two teams currently slotted ahead of them in the regional rankings; SRU also defeated Notre Dame, which is ranked third in the region, 2-1 in the regular season.

SCOUTING MILLERSVILLE
• Last time out: A goal in the 17th minute was all the offense Millersville needed in a 1-0 shutout against Bloomsburg University Nov. 6. Jaime Vazquez scored the goal on a pass from goalkeeper Kohl Omer.

• Millersville will be making its first appearance in the PSAC finals since the 2011 season, the same season in which MU won its lone PSAC championship.

• Vazquez leads the PSAC in both points (42) and goals (19). He has three goals against The Rock over his career.

• After Vazquez, Millersville scoring output drops significantly with only two other players with more than two goals in Jaxson Burns (four) and Chase Flickinger (three).

• Omer has started all 18 games for Millersville in 2015. He leads the PSAC in shutouts (10), and GAA (0.65) while his .846 save percentage ranks second in the league.

• Millersville enters the championship ranked first in the PSAC in goals allowed (12) and second in goals scored (35).

UP NEXT
Slippery Rock will learn its NCAA Tournament fate when the 2015 national tournament field is announced 6 p.m. Monday. If The Rock earns a bid it would mark SRU's second NCAA Tournament appearance since the 2013 season.
