2012 Seton Hill Stats
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's soccer team will play its third home match to open the 2012 season when it welcomes Seton Hill University to Egli Field for a 1:30 p.m. match Wednesday.

Head Coaches: Michael Bonelli is in his third season at the helm of the Slippery Rock program. Bonelli has posted a record of 18-15-5 in his three seasons, including an 11-7-1 mark and a berth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference playoffs in 2010. Prior to his time at SRU, Bonelli spent five seasons as an assistant coach at the Division I level, with stints at Northwestern and Lafayette. He received a bachelor's degree in physical education from SUNY Cortland in 2004.
Dan McCarty has been in charge of the men's soccer team at Seton Hill since its inception in 2002. In his time there, he has posted a record of 66-79-15. McCarty earned his undergraduate degree from Indiana University (Pa.) and his master's degree from Seton Hill.
Series History: This will be the fifth meeting between these two teams with Slippery Rock holding an unblemished 4-0 edge. The last meeting came last season, a 3-1 Rock win in Greensburg, Pa.
Scouting The Rock: Slippery Rock returns to action Wednesday to play in its third home game to open the season. The Rock is 0-0-2 overall and is coming off a pair of double overtime ties last weekend, 1-1 against Ashland and 3-3 against Tiffin. Slippery Rock is sporting a new look this season as three of the four players that have registered points are newcomers to the team.
Chris Davis is the leading scoring after netting two goals against Tiffin, both of which were assisted by
Mike Roopchandsingh.
Joshua Gray and
Anthony Jack, both transfer students, have each found the back of the net once. The Rock has matched opponents with four goals through two games and is outshooting the opposition 38-28.
Clayton Master has played every minute in goal for Slippery Rock, posting a 0-0-2 record. He has allowed four goals for a 1.64 goals against average and has made nine saves for a .692 save percentage.
Scouting the Griffins: Seton Hill, which will join the PSAC as full members next fall, will play in its first away game of the season Wednesday. The Griffins are 0-2-0 and are coming off a pair of home losses to PSAC opponents, falling 2-1 to then 16th-ranked California (Pa.) and 2-0 to Lock Haven to open the season. Seton Hill is being outscored 4-1 through two games but has matched the opposition with 20 shots. Just two players have registered at least one point with Matt Luchetti scoring the lone goal and Andrew Starevic picking up the assist. Luchetti and Paul Cornelius earned second team All-WVIAC honors last season, while Starevic was named to Honorable Mention honors. Jordan Sodhi has played every minute in goal for Seton Hill and owns a 0-2-0 record. He has allowed four goals for a 2.0 goals against average and has made four saves for a .500 save percentage.
Last Meeting: (
Box Score) Slippery Rock handed Seton Hill a 3-1 loss on its home field Oct. 5 last year. The Rock posted advantages of 14-8 in total shots, 8-5 in shots on goal and 2-1 in corner kicks.
All of the scoring came in the second half with
Kenneth Fultz opening the scoring in the 56th minute to put SRU up 1-0. Seton Hill answered with a tally from Mike Belsito in the 57th minute to tie the game at 1-1.
Stephen Donnelly notched the game-winner for SRU in the 65th minute and
Oladele Olaewe added an insurance tally in the 83rd minute to make it 3-1.
Clayton Master earned the win in goal, allowing one goal and recording four saves. Jon DeLuca took the loss in goal for the Griffins, allowing three goals and recording five saves.
