ALBUQUERQUE
-- Brady Wert and Kim Stitt represented Slippery Rock University Saturday on the final day of the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

Wert competed in the final three events of the heptathlon, placing 10th in the seven-event competition with a final score of 4,688 points, missing All-America honors by just two places.

Stitt finished 12th in the triple jump with a leap of 11.74 meters on her third and final attempt.

Slippery Rock's performance at the national meet was highlighted by Jen Hansen, who earned her fifth career All-America honor with a third-place finish in the pole vault Friday evening.

The Rock will now turn its focus to the outdoor track and field season. The majority of the SRU men's and women's track and field teams opened the 2010 campaign this weekend at Coastal Carolina University. Results from that meet will be available online at www.RockAthletics.com Saturday night.
