MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University swimming team wrapped up the 2008-09 season with a 13th-place finish at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships this weekend in Mechanicsburg.
The Rock women finished the four-day championships with 42 points, all coming from relays.
The top finish of the weekend came in the 400-yard medley relay, where the foursome of
Amanda Lancki,
Betsy Wilson,
Jessica Kieler and
Raquel Woerner placed 12th with a time of 4:25.65, earning 10 points for their effort.
The 400-yard freestyle relay, 200-yard medley relay, 200-yard freestyle relay and 800-yard freestyle relay teams all placed 13th in their respective events.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Kieler,
Lindsay Moyer,
Lauren Hervatin and Woerner finished with a time of 3:53.29.
The 200-yard medley squad consisted of Lancki, Wilson, Kieler and Woerner, and posted a finishing time of 2:01.78.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay,
Heather Karns teamed with Lancki, Hervatin and Woerner to post a time of 1:47.33.
The final relay squad to score points was the 800-yard freestyle relay team of Hervatin,
Kaitlin Kaulius,
Rachel Woods and
Katie Pietkiewicz, finishing the event with a time of 8:44.08.
West Chester earned its third-straight championship, followed by Clarion and California (Pa.) atop the podium.
