LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Slippery Rock University women's soccer midfielder,
Peyton Los, earned the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career, the conference office announced Monday.
Los, a freshman midfielder from Sarver, Pennsylvania, earns Slippery Rock its second PSAC weekly award this season. Los becomes the 25
th different player to earn a PSAC weekly award for SRU and take home its 56
th PSAC weekly award overall since 2004.
Los is the sixth freshman to win a PSAC weekly award for The Rock overall and the first since Kayla Swope in 2019.
The freshman helped Slippery Rock to a 2-0-0 week overall. Los began with week with her first career brace that included a game-winning goal on five shots on goal in 63 minutes of action during a 6-2 win over California (Pa.). The midfielder also spent 65 minutes on the pitch and took one shot in a 1-0 win over Indiana University (Pa.).
On the season, Los is third on The Rock in points with nine and is tied for the team lead in goals with four. Los has one assist to go along with her four goals. The freshman is one of four players on SRU to have taken at least 15 shots on the season (18).
Slippery Rock has completed just over half of the regular season and hold a 7-2-1 record overall, while being atop the PSAC West standings with a 6-1-1 mark inside the division. The Rock are back in action on the road in PSAC West play 5:30 p.m. Wednesday against Edinboro at Sox Harrison Stadium.
