LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Slippery Rock University landed a league-high 54 student-athletes on the Spring Academic All-Conference team when the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced the latest awardees for its newest academic honor Wednesday.
Â
The Academic All-PSAC teams were debuted in the fall and will be announced after each of the three seasons – fall, winter and spring – to increase academic recognition for high-achieving student-athletes. Undergraduate and graduate student-athletes must meet strict academic and athletic participation requirements to qualify.
Â
Those requirements included owning at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average based upon the most recent posting of grades prior to the award announcement and having completed at least four full semesters of academic work on campus. Transfers that have not been at SRU for four full semesters and freshmen and sophomores that have not completed at least four semesters do not qualify.
Â
For the spring team sports (baseball, softball, women's lacrosse, women's tennis), student-athletes that met the academic criteria must have also played in at least 70 percent of the team's games to qualify. Pitchers in baseball and softball qualify if they made 15 appearances or pitched 30 innings.
Â
Track & field athletes must have achieved at least a PSAC qualifying standard mark in an individual event (relays do not count) or be listed among the Top 25 performers in an individual event on the PSAC performance list as posted on TFRRS.org.
Â
Slippery Rock earned league-high honors with a 21 athlete-cushion over second place Shippensburg (33). Kutztown (32), East Stroudsburg (26) and IUP (26) rounded out the top five in terms of conference honorees.
Â
Leading SRU's representation on the Spring Academic All-Conference Team were women's track & field (19), men's track & field (15), lacrosse (9), softball (4), baseball (4) and tennis (3).
Â
The PSAC honored 382 total student-athletes across all 17 fulltime member schools and associate members this spring. Slippery Rock has now had 87 total student-athletes recognized between the fall (29), winter (4) and spring (54) Academic All-PSAC teams in 2025-26.
