SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – A meeting for current students interested in trying out to be a walk-on for the Slippery Rock University baseball team this season will take place 12:30 p.m. Aug. 27.
 
The meeting will be held in the grandstands at Jack Critchfield Park and is mandatory for all perspective walk-on candidates. Attendees are not required to bring any baseball equipment as it is strictly an informational meeting.
 
Slippery Rock completed its 2026 season with a 30-18 record, for what was the program's third 30-win season in the last five years, while advancing to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Tournament. The 30 wins secured the 21st 30-win campaign under head coach Jeff Messer and represented the third highest victory total by the program over the last 17 years.
