The Golden Bears enter the tournament ranked No. 13 in the final IWLCA national poll and earned the No. 4 seed in the region after making a run to the PSAC title game last week. After dropping a pair of 10-goal games against East Stroudsburg in the regular season, KU got its revenge in the PSAC semifinals and handed the Warriors their first loss of the season with a 10-8 win last Friday. Kutztown then gave a second straight undefeated opponent all it could handle in a physical PSAC Championship game, ultimately coming up one-goal shy in an 11-10 loss at SRU last Sunday.
Â
The Golden Bears are in the NCAA Tournament for the third time (2023, 2024, 2026) and are looking for their first tournament win after falling in the opening round to East Stroudsburg in both 2023 and 2024. They bring a 14-6 overall record into the tournament with all six of those losses coming against top 10 ranked opponents that qualified as top three seeds in the NCAA Tournament (twice against ESU, twice against West Chester, once against SRU and once against Pace).
Â
Four KU players earned All-PSAC honors this year, including first team defender Summer Davis and second team honorees Katie Yocum (attack), Rowan Hall (defense) and Marisa Bragg (goalie). Davis leads the team with 66 caused turnovers, 59 ground balls and 46 draw controls. Yocum is the leading scorer with 76 points on 68 goals and eight assists. Hall has tallied 36 caused turnovers and 45 ground balls and Bragg owns an 8.40 goals against average and a .490 save percentage while playing all but 69 minutes in goal this year.
Â
Kutztown is outscoring opponents 284-178, outshooting the opposition 650-488 and has put up advantages of 432-350 in ground balls and 274-192 in caused turnovers. Opponents have a 257-235 edge in draw controls.

Wingate enters the tournament ranked No. 16 in the final IWLCA poll and as the No. 5 seed in the Atlantic Region. The Bulldogs are making their third NCAA Tournament appearance and second consecutive. Much like Kutztown, they are still searching for a first NCAA Tournament victory. The South Atlantic Conference regular season and tournament champions enter at 16-3, having captured their fifth straight SAC regular season title and second tournament championship in program history.
Â
The three losses this year include an 11-10 loss to No. 2 Florida Southern in the season opener, a 17-11 loss to two-time defending national champion Tampa and a 9-8 loss to Mount Olive. The Bulldogs have won six straight games entering the NCAA Tournament.
Â
Wingate has been stellar defensively this season and leads the nation in caused turnovers per game (16.0) and draw control percentage, while ranking fourth nationally in scoring defense (6.42 goals against per game) and fourth in assists per game. The Bulldogs also rank fifth nationally in points per game, sixth in scoring margin and eighth in scoring offense. They are outscoring opponents 317-122, outshooting the opposition 655-305 and have put up advantages of 414-299 in ground balls, 305-181 in caused turnovers and 335-139 in draw controls.
Â
Wingate placed 11 players on the All-SAC teams, led by SAC Attacker and Freshman of the Year Stacy Glover and back-to-back SAC Defensive Player of the Year Kathryn McCabe. Glover leads the team with 76 points on 71 goals and five assists, while McCabe has team-highs of 48 caused turnovers and 58 ground balls while also pulling down 85 draw controls. Krysta Churns also has 44 caused turnovers and Bree Solero has 35 to give the Bulldogs three players with at least 35 caused turnovers on the year. Sophie Pavlick serves as the draw specialist and has racked up 159 draw controls on the year. Sasia Aunger has played the most minutes in goal and has a 6.82 goals against average and a .434 save percentage.
