SRU'S PSAC OUTDOOR HISTORY
The Rock have won 18 PSAC outdoor titles, including last spring. SRU has won two of the last three outdoor meets (2025, 2023) and three of the last six (2019). The Rock have finished first or second in each of the last six outdoor championships and have been first or second a total of 34 times with 16 runner-up finishes. SRU has never finished outside the top four dating back to the inaugural women's meet in 1979 with 18 titles, 16 runner-up finishes, five third place showings and six fourth place finishes.
Â
TEAM TITLE PREVIEW
Slippery Rock won its third straight indoor title earlier this year and will enter the meet this week as a slim favorite to repeat its outdoor title from last spring. The Rock are expecting to see a furious charge from hosting Shippensburg, as well as a strong push from Bloomsburg, California (Pa.), West Chester and East Stroudsburg. Just 40 points separates the top six teams based on the seed positions, which could lead to a thrilling third day in the team race.
Â
A LOT OF POINTS TO REPLACE
Slippery Rock ran away with the title last year with an incredible 171 points with Millersville taking second with 97 points. SRU will be looking to replace 80 points from last year's team, which included MVP
Anna Igims winning three events.
Â
SRU'S RETURNING CHAMPIONS
Slippery Rock won eight of the 21 events last spring on the way to a comfortable team title, but returns just three of those champions with
Ruthie Hughes returning in the 10,000-meter run,
Allie Taylor returning the pole vault and
Baylee Blauser returning the long jump. None of those three will enter the meet as the top seed in those events this spring. Â
Â
NO. 1 SEEDS
Slippery Rock enters the meet with two No. 1 seeds both coming in the field.
Olivia Heckman is the top seed in the shot put and
Autumn Wyatt is the top seed in the heptathlon.
Â
QUALIFIED IN EVERY EVENT
Slippery Rock has at least one athlete qualified in every event and has three or more athletes qualified in 14 different events. The Rock have four or more in eight different events, five or more in five different events, six or more in four different events and seven entries in both the triple jump and the pole vault.
Â
ATHLETES TO WATCH ON THE TRACK
Grace Lennon,
Ava Reagle and
Lydia Reed all have top eight seeds in the sprints and will likely play a factor in the relays as well.
Carissa Flynn is seeded fourth in the 5,000-meter run and 10th in the 10,000-meter run, while
Ruthie Hughes is the fourth seed in the 10K as the defending champion.
Ondrea Young is the highest seeded SRU track athlete at No. 3 in the 100-meter hurdles, while
Evabella Cox is seeded fourth in the 400-meter hurdles and
Hannah Burgoon is seeded fourth in the steeplechase.
Â
VERTICAL JUMPS
Allie Taylor has won the last two PSAC titles in the pole vault and enters the meet as the No. 2 seed. She will lead a contingent of seven SRU vaulters that qualified.
Tayla Kurzawa is the fourth seed in the high jump, where
Sophia Yard and
Delaney Sturgeon are tied for the seventh seed.
Â
HORIZONTAL JUMPS
Baylee Blauser is the defending champion in the long jump and enters the meet as a top six seed in both jumps as the No. 6 seed in the long jump and the No. 4 seed in the triple jump.
Alice Bogia is the three seed in the triple jump and 10th in the long jump, while
Tayla Kurzawa is the seventh seed in the triple jump.
Â
HECKMAN LEADS THE THROWERS
Olivia Heckman is the top seed in the shot put and is joined by
Savannah Schneck as the three seed and
Haley Domagala as the five seed. The Rock also have former All-PSAC honoree
Becca Martin in the shot put. Schneck is the No. 5 seed in the hammer throw, where she is joined by 10th seeded
Sydney Hale. Hale is also seeded fifth in the discus.
Isabella Bartoletti leads the way in the javelin as the No. 3 seed, where she is joined by No. 8 seed
Eva Tokar.
Â
MULTI CONTINGENT
All three SRU entries in the heptathlon are seeded in the top five, including top seed
Autumn Wyatt, No. 2 seed
Maddy Miller and No. 5 seed
Leighanne Swan.
Â
AWARDS AND HONORS
The top three finishers in all events will be named to the All-PSAC team and the top two teams in the team standings will take home team trophies. A number of other awards will be handed out Sunday as well, including awards for the top scholar-athletes  at the meet and Most Outstanding Athlete awards.
Â
QUALIFICATION
In order to compete this weekend, athletes had to meet the PSAC automatic qualifying mark in their respective events. If any event did not have the minimum field size of 20 athletes with qualified marks, the event was filled to the 20th best entry mark in that specific event to ensure at least 20 entries in all individual events. For the multi-event competition, the top 16 scores were accepted.
Â
SCORING
The top eight finishers in the final round of each of the 17 events will be awarded team points in the following order: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.
