LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Slippery Rock University jumper
Alice Bogia was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week when the league announced its weekly track & field awards Tuesday.
Â
Bogia, a senior from Fleetwood, Pennsylvania, was recognized for her efforts in the triple jump at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell last weekend.
Â
She took third overall at the meet and was the top Division II finisher with a career-best and NCAA provisional mark of 12.14 meters. That leap moved her up to No. 13 in Division II this spring.
Â
Bogia has now reached the 12.00-meter mark in two different meets this spring after hitting the milestone for the first time in her career earlier this season.
Â
Slippery Rock returns home this week to compete at the John Papa Invitational Thursday at the William Lennox Track, with field events set to begin at noon.
