Bogia earns PSAC weekly honor

Alice Bogia was named the PSAC Female Field Athlete of the Week after recording the No. 13 triple jump mark in the nation at Bucknell last weekend.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Slippery Rock University jumper Alice Bogia was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week when the league announced its weekly track & field awards Tuesday.

Bogia, a senior from Fleetwood, Pennsylvania, was recognized for her efforts in the triple jump at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell last weekend.

She took third overall at the meet and was the top Division II finisher with a career-best and NCAA provisional mark of 12.14 meters. That leap moved her up to No. 13 in Division II this spring.

Bogia has now reached the 12.00-meter mark in two different meets this spring after hitting the milestone for the first time in her career earlier this season.

Slippery Rock returns home this week to compete at the John Papa Invitational Thursday at the William Lennox Track, with field events set to begin at noon.
