SERIES HISTORY
Slippery Rock and Clarion first faced off in 1920, resulting in a 40-5 Rock victory. SRU claimed 26 of the first 27 meetings with the Golden Eagles. Over the next 77 matchups, The Rock have won 31 games over Clarion. Overall, Slippery Rock owns an 57-47 record against Clarion. The longest winning streak that The Rock has had over the Golden Eagles was a 22-game streak between 1924-86. 15 of SRU's 22 wins in that streak came during the modern era (1970's-present).Â
Clarion has won three straight games against SRU, which included a season sweep just a season ago. The Golden Eagles claimed a, 92-72, victory in the first matchup of the season and a 76-58 win at Morrow Field House.

LAST TIME OUT
Slippery Rock lost two close matchups to finish out its PSAC crossovers against Bloomsburg University and East Stroudsburg University. The Rock fell, 65-57, to the Huskies and, 69-65, to the Warriors.
Over the two-game stretch, SRU shot 36 percent from the floor overall, (41-of-114), 34.1 percent from beyond the arc (15-for-44) and 71.4 percent from the charity stripe (25-of-35). Defensively, The Rock averaged 9.5 steals and 3.5 blocks, while grabbing 33.5 rebounds per game.
Individually,
Iyanna Wade and
Alyssa Gillin led Slippery Rock in scoring with 14.5 and 12.5 points per game respectively. Wade also grabbed 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per contest, while Gillin pulled down 4.0 rebounds, forced 1.5 steals and led SRU with 1.5 blocks per game.
Karianna Woods contributed 12.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals over the two game set, while knocking down 84.6 percent (11-for-13) of her foul shots.
Kayley Joseph-Bernard stuffed the stat sheet as usual with 8.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 blocks against BU and ESU.
Sophia Hook rounded out SRU's starters with 8.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game versus the Huskies and the Warriors.
PSAC WEST OPENERS
Slippery Rock is searching for a win in its PSAC West opener for the first time since the 2021-22 season, when SRU took down Pitt-Johnstown, 66-52, at Morrow Field House. The last time The Rock won their PSAC West opener on the road was during the 2016-17 season, when they claimed a 72-59 win over Seton Hill University.

MOVING THE ROCK
Ball movement has been key for SRU putting up 65.3 points per game as it has assisted on 57.7 percent (169-of-293) of it's made field goals.
Wade and Joseph-Bernard lead the way for Rock playmakers as the guard ranks third (4.4 apg) and the forward ranks fourth (3.9 apg) in the PSAC in assists per game.
Slippery Rock is the only team in the PSAC with two of the top five players in assists per game.
PROTECTING THE PAINT
Joseph-Bernard has been one of the fiercest shot-blockers in the country so far this season. The forward is currently 29
th in Division II in total blocks with 26 and 34
th with 1.92 blocks per game. While near the top of the country in blocks and blocks per game, Joseph-Bernard's total rejection numbers stands second in the PSAC. The senior forward only trails Lock Haven University's Alana Robinson (2.5 bpg).
Along with Joseph-Bernard, Gillin has also been a force in the paint. Gillin ranks third in blocks per game (1.58) and third in total blocks (19) in the PSAC.
RISING UP THE RANKS
Over the weekend against Bloomsburg and East Stroudsburg, Gillin moved up five spots to a tie for 15
th place on Slippery Rock's career blocks list with 44 rejections. The senior forward passed Danielle Garroutte (2011-15) and Anyah Curd (2019-20, 21-22) who finished their respective SRU careers with 42 blocks each.
Joseph-Bernard did not block a shot against the Huskies or the Warriors, but still sits in 12
th place, just one rejection away from tying Karington Ketterer (2018-20) on the blocks list with 52.
LEADING THE PACK
Wade is the 13
th leading scorer in the PSAC with 13.8 points per game and ranks third in the conference with 4.4 assists per game. The freshman leads all freshman in the conference in scoring and assists.
A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING
While not the highest scoring player on the court, Joseph-Bernard always finds multiple ways to impact the game. The senior is averaging 8.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.9 blocks and 2.2 steals per game.Â
Joseph-Bernard is the only Division II athlete to average at least 8.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.5 blocks and 2.0 steals per game.
APPROACHING FRESHMAN RANKS
Approaching the halfway mark of the season, Wade is 93 points, nine assists and nine 3-pointers away from entering Slippery Rock's top 10 list for a freshman in each category. The freshman is currently chasing Viola Bournes (259 points), Nikki Presto (64 assists) and Lori Robinson (20 3-pointers).
SENIOR SEASONS
Joseph-Bernard and Gillin have been the backbone Slippery Rock's defense this season. The two forwards rank inside the top 10 for blocks as a senior at The Rock as Joseph-Bernard sits in fourth place with 23 blocks, while Gillin occupies ninth place with 19 blocks along with D'Asia Chambers.
Gillin also currently sports the fifth highest 3-point percentage (.361) by a Slippery Rock senior with at least three attempts per game.
3-POINT PRECISION
Slippery Rock has multiple players lighting it up from beyond the arc during the 2025-26 season. Hook ranks second (.406) and Gillin (.361) sits fourth in the PSAC in 3-point percentage.

SCOUTING CLARION
The Golden Eagles' 2025-26 season has been a rollercoaster so far, as they started the season 6-0 before losing four games in a row. Clarion then bounced back with a pair of wins over Shepherd University and Shippensburg University.
Zoe Guice leads the Golden Eagles with 17.1 ppg, 3.1 apg and 4.2 spg. Guice's 4.2 takeaways per game rank her second in the nation. As a team, Clarion forces the 13
th most turnovers in Division II. Arianna Seitz and Kendall Berger round out Clarion's double-digit scorers with 12.2 and 10.0 ppg respectively.
Other key Clarion contributors include Zoe Bayer and Alyssa Terza who average a combined 16.8 ppg, 11.2 rpg and 5.1 spg.
