YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Slippery Rock University women's indoor track & field team recorded five Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks and four top 10 finishes at the YSU Mid-Major Invitational hosted by Youngstown State University this weekend.
 
The Rock women only took part in the first of the two days of action at YSU with a select group of athletes competing Friday evening that included the pole vaulters, multi-event athletes and select distance runners.
 
Gwen Lloyd was the highest finisher for The Rock with a fifth place showing in the 5,000-meter run in a PSAC qualifying time of 18:29.02.
 
The Rock's distance runners also earned a top 10 showing in the distance medley relay with the foursome of Kayla Hanna, Marissa Smalheer, Madison Smalheer and Jennifer Cichra combining to post a ninth place finish in 12:53.37.
 
Leighanne Swan led the multi-event group in the pentathlon with a 10th place finish and a score of 3,343 points. Autumn Wyatt was 13th with 3,134 points and Maddy Miller was 14th with 3,081 points. Wyatt and Swan also hit the PSAC standard in the long jump with Wyatt landing a leap of 5.78 meters and Swan jumping 5.37 meters.
 
Allie Taylor led the way in the pole vault with a 10th place showing and a clearance of 3.62 meters. Kylie Eismann also met the PSAC standard with a mark of 3.47 meters and a 14th place finish.
 
The majority of The Rock team is competing Saturday at the University of Mount Union. A full recap from that meet will be available late Saturday night or Sunday morning.
