LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Slippery Rock University hurdler
Matthew Crow picked up Track Athlete of the Week honors from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference when the league announced its weekly awards Monday.
Â
Crow, a senior from Honey Brook, Pennsylvania, picks up his first weekly award of the season for his performance in the 60-meter hurdles at the Ashland Invitational last Saturday.
Â
He finished sixth overall in the finals, but was second among all Division II runners in the race, and clocked an NCAA provisional time of 8.14 seconds.
Â
Crow was one of only two PSAC male track athletes to hit an NCAA mark in a running event this week and has one of just seven NCAA marks in a running event across the conference this winter.
Â
Slippery Rock will split its squad this week with one group of athletes competing Friday and Saturday at Youngstown State and another group heading to Mount Union Saturday.
