Crow picks up PSAC weekly award

Matthew Crow was named PSAC Male Track Athlete of the Week in recognition of his performance at the Ashland Invitational Saturday.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Slippery Rock University hurdler Matthew Crow picked up Track Athlete of the Week honors from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference when the league announced its weekly awards Monday.

Crow, a senior from Honey Brook, Pennsylvania, picks up his first weekly award of the season for his performance in the 60-meter hurdles at the Ashland Invitational last Saturday.

He finished sixth overall in the finals, but was second among all Division II runners in the race, and clocked an NCAA provisional time of 8.14 seconds.

Crow was one of only two PSAC male track athletes to hit an NCAA mark in a running event this week and has one of just seven NCAA marks in a running event across the conference this winter.

Slippery Rock will split its squad this week with one group of athletes competing Friday and Saturday at Youngstown State and another group heading to Mount Union Saturday.
