Academic Honor Squads
Â
NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team and 12 individual student-athletes were honored Wednesday when the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association announced its annual Academic Honor Roll and Academic Honor Squads.
Â
In order for a team to be named an Academic Honor Squad, the collective GPA of all student-athletes on the roster must be above 3.20. The Rock posted a 3.713 GPA following the 2024-25 academic year, which was the highest of all lacrosse teams in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference for the fourth straight year.
Â
In addition to the team honor,
Ava Drath,
Krysta Frankowski,
Ella Koslowski,
Eryn Little,
Nicole Masi,
Erin Melcher,
Amelia Nitsche,
Hailey Ohlsen,
Leora Owings,
Grace Rotter,
Sydney Ulmer and
Victoria Ziemba were named to the Academic Honor Roll for maintaining a cumulative GPA above 3.50. Only juniors, seniors and graduate students are eligible for the individual academic honor from the IWLCA.
Â
Frankowski, Masi, Nitsche and Ziemba become two-time selections to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.
Â
This marks the second team academic award handed out to the SRU lacrosse team this summer after it previously won the PSAC Team GPA Award for the 2024-25 academic year. The Rock also set a program record with four Academic All-America selections with Rotter, Owings, Masi and
Paige Jenkins being recognized earlier this summer.
