SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's track & field team recorded 20 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference automatic qualifying marks and four NCAA provisional marks at the Paul Kaiser Classic that wrapped up Saturday evening from Shippensburg University.

The four NCAA marks all came in the field with two in the pole vault, one in the shot put and one in the hammer.
Â
Drew Layton led the way with a win in the pole vault with a season-best clearance of 5.05 meters.
Dan Hyatt also met the NCAA standard to take second with a clearance of 4.95 meters.
Scott Finch took 11th at 4.35 meters to give SRU three men with at least the PSAC mark in the pole vault.

Joshua Gose, who won the shot put at the Penn Relays Friday with a throw of 17.46 meters, took second in the event Saturday at Shippensburg with an NCAA mark of 16.75 meters.
Logan Parker also met the PSAC standard in fifth at 15.80 meters.

The Gose brothers each hit NCAA marks at Shippensburg with
Zach Gose taking second in the hammer throw with a toss of 58.92 meters.
Ryan Oleksy was sixth at 49.59 meters to give SRU two PSAC qualifying efforts in the hammer.

The Rock's throwers also hit five more PSAC marks at the meet with three in the discus and two in the javelin.
Josh Kingerski was third in the javelin with a toss of 58.89 meters with
Joseph Reed placing 10th with a toss of 52.74 meters after topping the 60-meter mark Friday at Penn Relays.
Andrew Demko led the way in the discus in fifth place with a throw of 46.60 meters.
Zach Gose was seventh at 45.82 meters and Oleksy was 10th at 45.10 meters.

Jack Thomas and
Zack Duda both met the PSAC standard in the long jump with Thomas placing third with a leap of 6.88 meters and Duda following in fourth at 6.85 meters.

Logan Turton and
Grady Cobb rounded out the PSAC marks in the field with top 10 showings in the high jump. Turton was sixth with a clearance of 1.95 meters and Cobb was ninth at 1.90 meters.

Logan Anderson led SRU on the track with a pair of PSAC marks in the hurdles, taking fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in 55.97 seconds and clocking a time of 14.95 seconds in the prelims of the 110-meter hurdles.

The final PSAC marks from Shippensburg came in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, where
John Juszynski was second in 9:30.95 and
Michael Gauntner was fourth in 9:53.21.

Slippery Rock will host the SRU Last Chance Meet next Friday as a final tune-up before hosting the PSAC Championships May 8-10.
