MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – Josh Kingerski and Isabella Bartoletti won the javelin to lead the Slippery Rock University track & field teams Friday at the Marty Pushkin Invitational hosted by West Virginia University.
 
Slippery Rock sent just 12 total athletes to WVU Friday night to compete in the javelin throws and the women's 5,000-meter run. The rest of The Rock's athletes will compete Saturday at Indiana University (Pa.).
 
Kingerski took the top spot in the men's javelin with an NCAA provisional throw of 60.11 meters. Slippery Rock swept the top two spots in the event with Joseph Reed placing second with a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying throw of 54.80 meters.

John Juszynski led the way in the 5,000-meter run with a fifth place finish in a time of 15:24. Eli Schreiber followed in 15:32 to take 10th.
 
Bartoletti gave The Rock a sweep of the two javelin events when she won the women's competition with a PSAC qualifying throw of 40.30 meters. Eva Tokar took fourth with a throw of 36.90 meters, also meeting the PSAC standard. Madylin Wolter was eighth (33.22m) and Olivia Heckman was ninth (32.34m).
 
Lydia Valeriano led the way in the 5,000-meter run with a 10th place finish in 18:52.31. Maddie Grillo was 11th in 18:52.57, followed by Morgan Dennison in 13th in 19:24.38 and Skye Hackathorn in 17th in 20:23.58.
 
Slippery Rock returns to action Saturday at the Ed Fry Invitational hosted by IUP. Live results for the meet are available HERE.
