EDINBORO SCOUTING REPORT
Wednesday's matchup proves critical for Edinboro, entering at 15-3 in league play and tied with Seton Hill University for first in the PSAC West. With two games left to their schedule, the Fighting Scots could earn anywhere from the first to the fourth seed in the PSAC West. No matter how this game shakes out, Boro has secured its first 20-win season in six years.
Â
The Scots head into Wednesday's game as winners in six of their last seven games. Their last regulation loss came on the road in a 73-67 defeat to Seton Hill Jan. 22. Most recently, Edinboro lost to IUP in overtime, 76-72, before splitting with the Griffins via an 82-66 home win.
Â
Edinboro leads the PSAC and ranks 17
th nationally with a .449 field goal percentage. The Fighting Scots are second in the conference and 27
th in Division II with 74.0 points per game. Defense is no test for Edinboro either, holding opponents to 60.0 points per game while recording 4.5 blocks per outing – also good enough for 17
th in Division II.
Â
Morgan Gentile, a graduate student from Athens, Pennsylvania, leads Edinboro with 15.1 points per game. Gentile leads the PSAC and ranks 23
rd nationally with 4.8 assists per game. She also nets 2.2 steals per game, seventh best in the conference. Gabby McDuffie is Edinboro's leading rebounder with 6.6 boards per game.
Â
While Gentile was held to just five points on 2-of-7 shooting against The Rock Jan. 29, Ashten Boggs had a monstrous day offensively with 23 points and seven rebounds, making 8-of-11 field goal attempts. McDuffie recorded a double-double in that game on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Â
LOOKING AHEAD
With Slippery Rock mathematically eliminated from PSAC Tournament qualification, Wednesday marks the team's final game of the 2024-25 season. Head coach Micaletti will look next to her second full offseason at the helm of the program with many key contributors expected to return next year.
